Burnout usually takes more than a few weeks to recover from, just fyi. Can't say what's up other than the public information.
I’d love for Memmy to have ability to take me to the actual reply I select from my inbox instead of a random point in the post or not crash after editing a comment multiple times or scroll to the correct point when I select the button that takes you to the next top comment but I’ve accepted it may never get fixed and another more actively developed iOS app will come along.
I think they burned out and are taking time off. Free app so no real obligation to anyone, but I’ve moved on for now.

My progression has been voyager(mobile)>bean(i paid for that lmao)>thunder which has been by far the most smooth and feature rich. ive tried all the other available ios apps as well (lemmios, avelon, etc.) but thunder has been better than any ive paid for or contributed to so far. i still want memmy to succeed and become even more feature rich but i def get that it’s prob not the devs main priority, especially being a free app. check out some others in the meantime! i still occasionally cycle thru them all. i dont think lemmy will blow up fully until there is a pristine ios experience.

I like Thunder, since it is the most like ReddPlanet, the app I was using as my main when the APIcalypse happened, but I run into issues trying to reply to comments.
You run into issues with Thunder or ReddPlanet?
Thunder. I often get an error saying it's unable to find the post to comment to. ReddPlanet doesn't work anymore thanks to spez.
I’m still having so many crashes and basic UX issues (still don’t get context when clicking comments or replies, editing comments is a crap shoot, notifications mean nothing, posts crash to a non-recoverable screen even though they load fine in a browser, etc) I’m giving up.
It’s been a good run, and I’m very sad to move on. I’ve used Memmy since nearly day 1 and I really loved this app. I could tell the devs were giving us their best for a while. It reminded me most of my beloved Apollo, and it’s such a shame – perhaps the volume is just too much for the team?
But the issues with the app are preventing me from using Lemmy like I want to, so I’m going to have to bail.
I wish all the best for the devs, but there are too many fundamental issues, long-standing bugs, and UX issues for me. Peace.
e: added a new bug, marked by asterisk (OR NOT, because it only keeps some text during an edit now?!? WTAF, how does that even happen? Wrong regex? I’m done.
e2: I think it’s keeping edits at the end, but not in the middle. The bug I was trying to add was a hard crash any time I try to make a new post. Adding in case anyone cares.
Yeah, I've moved on to Avelon and it's really good. I remember when dev on Memmy was going at a breakneck pace, we the users were imploring them to slow down and not burn out. It's a shame but a tale as old as internet time.
Unfortunately I’ve just given up at this point, with around 30 days left till the TestFlight expires there doesn’t seem to be anything happening at all
I’ve moved on to trying other apps, currently it’s Voyager and it’s quite solid
Voyager and Avelon are quite solid imo. I’ll be back if Memmy comes back alive but the devs don’t even seem to be using Lemmy at all so not holding my breath.
Once the TestFlight runs out I’ll likely not install the App Store version.
With Lemmy getting updates, Memmy may not even work on some instances, would be suprised if there’s issues like this already
