The divers brave jellyfish-infested water to test this prototype. I was afraid someone would got stung in the face. Also, did some jellyfishes got shredded at 0:11?

I was concerned about the jellyfish, until I realized they were riding on a torpedo.

Yes, why are they riding on a torpedo?

The better question is, why aren't you?

But, seriously, they're probably taking it out into more open waters and setting it up/inspecting it before tests. Probably a simple way of transportation. I imagine there was no warhead and it runs on electrical batteries, so it must be pretty safe.

Not all jellyfish are harmful. These arent.

Those are barrel jellyfish, right? While they're not harmful, getting stung by a horde of them probably not a pleasant experience.

I found myself in a swarm while swimming next to a ship in the Baltic sea. The article says they do have some defenses but i didnt notice anything.

I was scared though!

More details on this UUV (unmanned underwater vehicle)

https://www.navalnews.com/naval-news/2023/08/ukraines-new-underwater-drone-marichka-breaks-cover/

According to Ukrainian media, the Marichka is a self-developed system made by volunteer engineers (so called AMMO UKRAINE) with donations. The media platforms claim that the estimated cost of the UUV is about UAH 16 million, which is equivalent to $433,000.

Interesting to see what they do and don’t blur

If you can see the propeller, you can figure out the sound profile it would make and listen for that. That’s why they always hide propellers from views in pictures of modern submarines.

that's what I was alluding to. That and the horizon
