From an authorised sequel to George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four to a collection of newly discovered short stories from the late Terry Pratchett, there is a mountain of brilliant science fiction to get through this month

Pratchett pretty famously didn't want his unfinished works to be published after his death

"Julia by Sandra Newman. This sequel to Nineteen Eighty-Four, authorised by the Orwell estate, is probably the book I am most excited about this month. "

I haven't read her stuff, though as a Sci-Fi geek who loves history and majored in English, taking almost every pre-Victorian Brit Lit course that was available (interesting as multi-disciplinary texts, AND never full when I needed to register!) I'm adding The Heavens to my list now. Without reading a single word, I feel very confident she's a step or thirty up from Kevin J. Anderson.
