Enough Musk Spam

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

Always thought it was pretty silly that a good portion of the musk spam on reddit was from a sub called "enough musk spam", and now it's here too. Name seems kind of backwards doesn't it?

I always assumed the “musk spam” they’re referring to is all the “isn’t Musk a genius?!” wank off spam that was probably more common when that sub started

I guess that’s the case. Otherwise the sub serves to stop spamming shit about Musk in general, in which case… what do we post here? Lol

Back then when the sub was created, every technology-relared sub were always filled with "Musk did this" or "Musk said that". They were spammed with Musk and Twitter-related topics. They created the sub specifically so people can post those articles there and not spam the normal subs.

But literally all it did was create yet another place, and now they're just another musk circlejerk sub creating more musk threads, completely defeating the purpose.

That's not specific to Musk...

Any sub named "enough_____spam" was/is just a place to go and hate on _____

Well, he once criticized Twitter for being spammed with bots. And it was pretty obvious he was projecting a lot and probably revealed that the rich use fake profiles and spammers to increase popularity on their online profiles.

Totally unimportant (as is anything related to Twitter), but I always wonder about that Twitter profile image for Musk. Literally everytime I see it I think, "Is he wearing the Ant Man costume?" Does anybody have a link to the original image, because I have no idea what the hell he's wearing.

Well, this is uncomfortable.

That girdle is working overtime

The fact that this man is held up as an example of an enlightened free speech defender and businessman by the same people fighting to ban books because they have a minor reference about sexual orientation or minority history should be the best argument against any discourse with such kind of people.

Never fight with a stupid, he or she will drag you at his or her level and will beat you with his or her experience

It took me a minute to realize the "tool" mentioned wasn't Elon himself.
