The best part about this song is a contractor working on the salt lake temple mentioned that the original foundation that was cracking is still there. They just built a second foundation on top of the original sandstone one.
That sandstone is now sand, which is the primary reason for the renovation. The building is literally unsafe because it's built on a foundation of sand.
There's a metaphor there somewhere
