Do you remember when the church wasn’t committing tax evasion on the reg? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I may have made the words in the sand a little too illegible. It’s an exmormon post, I swear!

I found this one interesting. Here's the church account that is nearly always used:

"After reviewing the documents, Smith called them 'the best he had ever seen' but said, 'this is not what you want. Tell the sisters their offering is accepted of the Lord, and He has something better for them than a written constitution...I will organize the women...after a pattern of the priesthood.'"

This account is from Sarah Kimball's autobiography, but skips both the part about it being in the Masonic Hall above his store (the first ellipsis), and the part about being organized "under the priesthood" (the second ellipsis).

The account describes the cornerstone ceremony at the end.

You can read the full autobiography account in the BYU library here.

LMK what you think. I thought about adding ears to help add to the tapir appearance, but it made it look too much less like the original meme. Blank template:

Eyyy, I think that’s the first downvote ever for this community. What a badge of honor. “You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain…”

Love to see this community already coming together on here. We’re already blowing any “faithful” presence here on Lemmy out of the water.

I think you’re spot-on, but this is also one of those things that is so vague as to be entirely unprovable one way or the other. Members will take it as truth because they want to believe in the persecution complex.
