I generally truly love using @firefox This new feature of intrusively suggesting to translate shit is beyond me though. Just shove off with that crap and ask me to opt IN (mastodon.social)

I generally truly love using @firefox This new feature of intrusively suggesting to translate shit is beyond me though. Just shove off with that crap and ask me to opt IN rather than make me search how to opt out.
That popup is intrusive and I hate firefox for it.

go to about:config

search for browser.translations

You can either disable it completely or just disable the popup.

The popup itself offers the option to

never suggest translating language

Doesn't it?

I think you can disable it in add-ons.

Thing is, I disabled it, received an update and it was enabled again.

Then disable it again, perhaps restart, restart in safe mode. Can’t you remove it altogether? Like with other add-ons? And in about:config?

@PlasticFrog it's not an add on, it's a new feature. Let's see if this time it remains disabled ;)

Oh apologies, but you can in general set some hard changes in the about:config section of firefox.

But hope it’s sorted for you now. :-)

When you hit a page that's not in your ff language a popup from the browser appears suggesting to translate. Cool feature, but the popup doesn't allow me to just disable it be default
