I don't think it's the old memes bothering people; it's the fact that it's all I see when I open Lemmy. I'll open the app, set a page of low effort old memes and no other content, and then swiftly close the app. Every time. Not really a smart move when we're trying to attract Reddit/Twitter refugees IMO.
