Yeah, all the other mythical creatures delivering gifts around winter solstice/Christmas are much more community oriented.
Santa was made by Coca-cola & for one purpose only. And yes, it was for the redistribution of wealth, it's just that in the opposite direction.
Coke made the current red and white image of Santa. Santa had already existed for hundreds of years before under several names

Santa being a product of and enforced by Coca-cola, I'm sure this was the main goal all along.
(But then again the naughty coal thing is from Befana & Krampus, maybe something older/more northern)
