But I'm having bad luck. Our local 70mm theater site won't even open, it must be overloaded. I'm hoping other people are having issues, too, so I can get good seats.

Anyone else have any luck?

Purchase a ticket for the week after the premiere and you will be good to grab a seat

Ooh I'll try that

EDIT:My friends I promised to see it with couldn't see it the week after. But we ended up securing one for the matinee on Sunday.

I attended the special 10-minute preview last Wednesday and they showed a QR code to get advanced tickets. I was able to buy that night for my local AMC LieMAX. The only true IMAX in my city just opened tickets today and was sold out before I could get to my laptop. I guess I'll just have to go with AMC for the advanced screening, then watch it again in true IMAX later on.

How was the preview? Did it look like the movie was gong to be good?

The preview didn't really show much. It was Paul's first worm ride, half of which was already shown in the trailer. It just showed more dialogue and obviously the full shot of Paul getting on the worm. So there's really no way to tell if it's gonna be good just by that preview, but it's Denis, so you can be pretty confident it won't be bad at the minimum. It will also help that they got all the world building out of the way in part 1, as I noticed that the preview scene was more relaxed with more fluid dialogue instead of just exposition.

The open desert shots were gorgeous, and this will definitely be another beautifully shot film.

Woo! Got one for the Sunday matinee.

My only early worry is our tickets are too far up. We got row F.
