I take solace in knowing we're only destroying ourselves and many of the contemporary species unlucky enough to have existed during the short time in Earth's history where we played pretend we were this world's masters/owners instead of its children/subjects that we actually were.

The sad fact is, more Americans would rather keep up with and fantasize about being a Kardashian than condemn their ridiculous life of needless excess while others struggle for food and shelter.

That's what the American Dream has devolved into since Reagan, a fantasy of participating in owner class excess that should instead enrage us.

Our FOR PRIVATE PROFIT news media would much rather ingratiate themselves to the Fuhrer than be the fourth estate and report on him earnestly.

Antagonizing a future President openly feening to attack any organization that says an unkind word sounds like a recipe for lost revenue, and they can't risk lost shareholder value over something as trivial as representative democracy.

Any way you slice it, Donald Trump is the product and symptom of our society's tolerance and servitude to our greed class. Remember the theme of Donald's game show? We chose to die alone fighting against one another over scraps rather than living together as a society back in the 80s with the Reagan Revolution and the legislation of greed as our only cultural value.

This is just the bill coming due. Somewhere, the ghosts of all the struggling neighbors we cut the net out from under, and vilified as "welfare queens and filthy takers," to cut taxes for people like Fred and Donald Trump back then are laughing.

The ultimate goal of market capitalism is to end competition.

Just ask Walmart, and Amazon, and HBODiscoveryWarnerBlahBlahBlah, and all the other self-cannibalizing market sectors, basically all of them, killing competition so they can enshittify their formerly acceptable products and gouge for the privilege because fuck you, where else you gonna go? If someone builds a better mouse trap, they'll buy it and kill it.

This is terminal stage market capitalism on display, with no new markets to exploit and rape to make kids manufacture plastic shit for ten cents an hour, as our very habitat buckles under the weight of our owner's unquenchable avarice.

And no, we won't find salvation on Mars or Titan as some of the capitalists claim. Believe it or not, our insatiable need to grow/metastasize is the root cause of most of our problems.

When you make the private profit motive the only motive, as we have in the US in practice, what in the ever loving fuck do you think your elected leaders and their appointments will be motivated by? Duty and integrity?

Sociopath asset holders being allowed to indulge their greed disease with impunity and dictating how our society runs while contributing nothing of merit needs to end. Until then, we'll keep finding new lows to stoop to until climate change makes our gold plated, inhuman cesspool collapse completely.

I did as well when I started pontificating on the current gender conflict, only to be rebuked not on the facts or the data, but on the feels with ad hominems directed at me.

But the thing is, in addition to dictating all poors must work in the wake of the loss of their jim crow pseudo-slave workforce, the market capitalists want us divided in every conceivable way so we never look up at them basking in the dragon hoards we never stop growing for them with our bodies.

They use the media they own and the curriculum they inform through captured governments to stoke racial/political/sex/cultural divides. It is in their interests to keep us ignorant, largely devoid of critical thinking, and hostile towards one another.

Neither men nor women are setting these terms on the basis of their inherent drives, their drives are being manipulated to serve the market by a few thousand sociopath families with aligned interests based in unquenchable avarice. All of us without considerable net worth are less than human to the market capitalist owners.

I agree with you, though its all a symptom of the larger class war and the market capitalist owners need for mooaaaaaaar that required almost everyone to work to support a household. Same reason they limited abortion for poor women here in the US, the need for more desperate workers.

The sad reality is the truths you lay out are just not palatable to the current culture, despite being true. They also will not even begin to improve until the larger global class ~~war~~ occupation is addressed and the greed of the owners is put into check by force.

Even that is a losing battle, but at least it has meaningful support. If you're going to fight a just but losing battle, fight the one that informs all others that won't get rotten fruit unfairly pelted at you in the public square.

As someone largely opposed to the idea of a celebrity, I still agree and have for awhile.

I've wanted President Jon Stewart since I saw how he advocated for 9/11 victims benefits to an indifferent Congress and won.

I feel like given the weather events we're seeing, that will continue to worsen, greed as a justification to destroy the habitability of our only world will be met with contempt once most have lost friends/relatives to the accompanying destruction/famines/droughts. No different than the highly profitable slave trade.

If we make it and find ways to mitigate or tolerate our new climate that will take millions of years to repair itself from what we've done in decades, we will likely be considered very backwater and primitive for doing it eyes wide open.
