Last time I went to the cinema it was a small screen, and had a bunch of teens just taking the piss. It's to be expected at this point, but it really compromises the experience of going to the cinema. They ended up getting shouted at and they eventually behaved, but for a movie with a fairly quiet first few scenes they wouldn't stop with shitty one-liners, saying how they'd fuck the lead actress, and throwing their food at the screen.

This is what I pay to go to the cinema for? When I saw Spectre there were a group of teens taking photos with the flash on, and laughing constantly. Entitlement and selfishness are what ruin the cinema experience for most people. Then things like the hygiene of others etc - being in a hot cinema with someone who hasn't bathed recently and is just stinking of a few days of BO is really off-putting lol.

One side is even ribbed, for your pleasure!

I'd agree with that - not on the same level as BTAS, but still very decent! It's very noir, but it's also not afraid to address into the fantastical, which I liked a lot. I think some things that were changed from the norm were a little unusual - I get that they need to differentiate the show, but some changes seem rather trivial and (so far) there doesn't seem to have been much need for the changes?

I'm wary of giving spoilers if anyone who hasn't seen the show/ contemplating watching it, so feel free to drop me a message if you want to discuss anything in depth.

Oh wow, well caught! I never would have picked up on that! This means I'm due a rewatch on those episodes! :)

To be honest, I've never felt that. I felt like maybe as well as being his assistant, Teddy was also a huge fan of Hagen. His respect for him, as well as his pity for how Hagen has spiralled is what I pick up from him. It's like a friendship that's devolved to be completely one-sided from a friend who's been there through the years, through the thick and thin. It's essentially a case of watching his friend dealing with addiction, and sinking lower and lower in his self-destruction, and into a life of crime.

I agree that there doesn't seem to be anything with Selina and Maven either.

If you compare it to Harley and Ivy, they're a lot more overt with their references to their relationship, so I never would have thought that Matt and Teddy were involved with each other.

It was Mitchell and Webb! 😁 "Good, simple food, cooked simply! It's easy" "It's easy because you did it, I'm clearly not very good at this if I'm on your show, and you've done things on your plate that might be simple to you, but may as well be magic to me! The only reason we have people in there now is because you're here!"

I'm not sure how I feel about the voice acting from the actor voicing Batman. It just feels kinda flat and bored. I know he's going for something like a stoic depth but it lacks the depth? I think it's fine in his Bruce Wayne public voice, but once it's his Batman voice it's a bit lifeless.

Better than BTAS?

Same as that so far! The fact he addresses him as 'Pennyworth' says a lot. Like The Batman had a similar dynamic with Battinson, but you could tell they cared about each other and that Bruce just didn't particularly like being told what to do with the Bruce Wayne side of his life. So far I don't think the season is hitting that same tone, but again, same as you I'll wait til I've seen the end.

Kinda wish there was more Batman Beyond, that show kicked ass!

I definitely prefer the canon version of events as it seems much more fitting for Bane. Arkham Knight was good, but his thing wasn't about killing other villains, it was about recruiting them, so killing Bane seems unnecessary, and just seems like some convenient writing.

Bane had control of Santa Prisca previously, and it seems very fitting for him to take care of a drug cartel that's hurting his people. Much much more satisfying ending.

I've watched a few episodes already and hope to watch the rest in the next few days, so without spoilers how are people enjoying the show?

Oh okay I get what you mean now, definitely with you on the really badly over-used jokes. Nobody and This Is The End are great movies!
