Definitely the worst part of using Lemmy. As someone who lives in Taiwan it's quite annoying getting gaslit by a bunch of cosplayers in random threads.

Citation needed.

Wait here's one!

Looks like youth unemployment in Europe is very comfortably below China's at around 14% vs China's 21%. Also notably the European data has been trending down.

To be fair though we don't know what the current rate is in China because they stopped publishing the statistic for some reason.

And on the fourth toot, God evacuated the heaven and the earth.

That is a horrifying number.

Imagine going to an average school in the US, looking into the first classroom and every kid in there is dead.

Then you keep walking down the hall, the next 5 classrooms you check are the same, every kid dead except the 6th one has a couple still alive.

That's how you can help contextualise this cold hard number, based on an average class size of around 20.

Good news. China has been doing great overall building renewables so let's hope they're able to keep the trend going.

The bias bot refuses to look into the mirror. How apt.

You expect people just believe that shit? Damn. Impressively wrong on both sides of the analogy.

42 000 Chinese students were also granted asylum in Australia by Bob Hawke.

During his speech, Hawke did something unprecedented — he offered asylum to some 42,000 Chinese nationals in Australia as a consequence of the massacre.

This even surprised his cabinet, who weren't consulted on the decision prior to Hawke's announcement on live television.

I think you're right on this one, I don't hold out much hope for it but I can dream. For now the status quo will have to do.

Yeah that's a good point, the situation is not really all that analogous. I certainly hope you're right. Maybe they can even stop harrassing Taiwan one day too.
