That's really awful that you had to experience that. You found a very valid solution to a disability that enabled you to learn and got shit for it. Shorthand is a real skill and professional shorthand is not easy to learn. I remember my mom had a professional secretary's shorthand textbook that I used to love growing up. It was like learning another language and I did end up using some of it in school for my personal notes. Hell stenography is still a valid profession and uses it's own form of shorthand. You are awesome and your teacher was an ass.

I saw that "Sofa king funny" comment in another post this morning and wanted to post this gif.

Holy shit that is so wrong, and I am here for it.

I opened this post thinking the woman in question was some high level C suite worker. Nope she was supposedly working in fast food. This is beyond dystopian. You mean to tell me this fucker walked in a fast food place saw a toddler and an infant behind the counter, recognized that the mom must have just given birth and thought "Yup this is inspiring." I'm honestly speechless. This might be one of the few instances I've ever seen where everyone responding is on the same page with their reaction and rage.

I don't know why this amuses me as much as it does. It's deliciously ridiculous.

I find this so hard to believe. Like how does anyone live in Virginia and not know where Richmond is? I-95 literally runs through the city cutting it in half. If you can find the interstate you will find Richmond. Source: born and bred Richmonder.

Shout out to all my fellow latchkey/free babysitter folks out there. I still resent that I never had a "real" summer vacation growing up.

This is me today and I don't like it.

I work mornings in the office and drive home on lunch break to wfh the rest of the day and all my best solutions pop into my head in that drive home. It's great because it's a quick break from work to get the brain percolating and then I can jump right into solving mode as soon as I get home.

I'm torn about this because I have good mentors but I genuinely want to try to learn how to code and not just have the answers given to me right away. At least I'm only working on volunteer project so being slow isn't really holding anyone else up.
