I'm listening to an album I'm producing checking for kinks and weird stuff to edit out or songs i should cut to replace with new material that I need to write. I find it's easier to hear weird things that I recorded when I'm not really paying attention, haha.

Just so everyone is aware, when companies ask you to donate, they have ALREADY PAID for the donation and they are trying to get their money back by nickle and diming their customers. Don't fall for this.

"After receiving a speeding ticket for doing 53 in a 50..."

How to tell me you're not caucasian without telling me your not caucasian.

How did you get signed? Did you reach out to various A&R, or did they reach out to you? I'm an indie music producer and I've never gotten noticed by anybody in the industry for distribution.

A lot of people are thinking short term when it comes to Reddits traffic IMO. Sure, temporarily we would boost Reddits traffic but long term would probably hurt them. By this time next year, I'm sure Lemmy would have much higher contributing numbers than now, and next r/place will either A) not happen or B) happen with embarrassingly low participation. We could have c/place here instead.

I agree that helping Reddits traffic by participating doesn't seem like a good idea, but I also don't think that ignoring Reddit will make the *problem go away either. So I support the cause, but as I used to use RIF, I will not be participating, but more luck to you.

*one could argue there is no problem as Reddit is a separate entity to Lemmy. But I, like the rest of the community, support having more people switch here so we have more content. Honestly, I don't care about Reddit as long as Lemmy can provide the content we used to see over there.

You have to be a certain kind of creative to write this kind of stuff. I have no idea how to do it but you should write sitcoms lol

Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto Vice City. The missions are incredibly difficult.

And I never thought I'd finish Grand Theft Auto San Andreas until I finally figured out what I was doing wrong with Big Smokes Mission.

Yes, I use adblock. Most sites I visit didn't have ads on them 15 years ago. I don't want to see the ads now. As others have said, they are way too scammy and intrusive.

But your second point about not caring about the creator, i always thibk about this. YouTube. They will do two 15 second unskippable ads for a 5 second video... and then the creator of that video DOES NOT SEE A CENT FROM THE ADVERTISERS OR YOUTUBE! Why? Because its not monetizable, thats why! Why would I waste my time over that kind of crap? Or, worse yet, if I wanted to watch another advertisement on YouTube, I have to watch an ad to watch an ad? Why does that make sense? It's not the consumers that don't watch ads that don't care about the creators. It's a platform that monetizes its users and then doesn't pay them for it.

Which don't get me started on Reddit...
