I use Revance Manager for patching other apps but youtube app is shit no matter how much you patch it. Prefer NewPipe or even LibreTube over patched Youtube app.

I use NewPipe for Youtube, there are no ads at all.

I use AdGuard for blocking ads phone-wide and if I hadn't, Vivaldi has a built-in adblocker too.

Bottom line is I don't see any ads without using uBlock Origin. Original commenter is "surprised more people aren't using" it like it's the only way to go, while in reality it usable only in certain scenarios. It's best for PC but not for mobile.

For which mobile and what extensions manager?

I'm blocking ads phone-wide, I just don't use uBlock Origin for that on the phone.

Where do you shower? Do you have a job? If not, how do you get food, money for gas etc.?

I forgot greenhouses exist... I'd be terrible at this. Need a new plan for zombie apocalypse.

What kind of food can you grow in the mountains? Other than berries? This knowledge can become useful.

Someone else downvoted me? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's not true.

Blocking [email protected] is a must. It's openly russian propaganda.

I didn't...? I was totally aware this would get downvoted. But not by me!

It reportedly has the capability to translate languages in real-time during voice calls, video calls, and face-to-face. The feature is said to be better than language translation on Google's Pixel Buds as the former doesn't require an active internet connection.

I'm wondering what's the point of showing options (download, share etc.) when peeking (long-pressing) pictures if they are unresponsive? Am I missing something?

Is it possible to "peek & stay" instead of hiding a picture as soon as I stop pressing?

Settings shortcut: Media > Shown options when peeking

Today I learnt that at beehaw.org you don't really have to break any instance/community rules to have your comments removed by the admin. In their wiki page they wrote over the top, corporate-sounding articles about how "Beehaw aspires to be a diverse place" where "everyone plays an important role in that mission", how they are against Reddit-style power mods and in favour of fair moderation, but the reality seems to be quite the opposite.

I'm really glad Lemmy is not Reddit and there's always plenty of alternatives, which makes me appreciate Lemmy even more. No more yellow icons on my communities subscription list. 🏸🐝
