I left the UK 14 years ago, to head home. It looks like it been a rough ride under the tories.

Do you think life is going to improve under Labour?

@[email protected] great write up.

When you say 'pretty white bunch' you're not wrong, a little surprising. I suspect that it would be true to say "Straight White Male" is the norm.

Mocking outselves - this might be better in [email protected]

I have a "Average NZ" That you are very welcome to mock ourselves on if [email protected] doesn't seem to fit

NZ Sign Language ... I’m all ears.

I see what you did there

I somehow think it would have very easy to [semi] ID me through those questions. I was in the in some of the smaller groupings of a few of the questions. I'm surprised at some of the small group size on some of the answers.

Partly this is because of an issue with postgres memory that happened before I started the actual upgrade.

What's the postgres envs?

After the post the other day , this is the price I have to pay for 2 visits to the EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT, about 10 to 12 X-rays, a CT scan, two nights in hospital (so far) and all the drugs

Glad to not live in the ‘land of the free’

The saga continues from my misspent Friday night

Managed to put my shoulder back out on Sunday night so spent it all in the ED. Ortho now think I’ll need surgery to stabilise the Bankart fracture I also sustained

The currently want me to stay in as there is a high chance I’ll pop it back out again

🎉

New Zealand's rarest bird looks set for a bumper breeding season this summer with five fledglings already striking out on their own and as many as eight more chicks to follow.

That might not sound like many but given that the total world population of tara iti, or fairy terns, is less than 40, that is a huge boost to the species' chances of survival.

It is also a much-needed morale boost for volunteers and Department of Conservation staff looking after the birds, after the disastrous 2022-23 season in which Cyclone Gabrielle killed five adults and all but one chick.

DOC supervisor Shelley Ogle said the current season was tracking to be the best since 2013-14.
