Erm.

I recall a study about kids under a specific age that cannot get scared of looking at pictures of demons and other horror stuff because they don't know yet what your everyday default person looks like.

So I'd argue that even people need to get accustomed to a thing before they could recognise or have an opinion about anything.

Yeah - I like the idea that if a character's fundamental stat is (too) low, doing basic everyday tasks would get an increased difficulty to do it right/with success. Being it talking to someone, opening a door or getting out of bed.

Care to elaborate on the "2t steel boxes"?
Doesn't ring a bell what it means

They might not know what organizations do, might have no better options, might think that no change will happen no matter what they do, might not care, might be brainwashed/tortured/made fearful...the possible reasons are endless.

Checked it out and left a comment.

Hmm. Depends probably on do you leave the knives out, have paper/cardboard/plastic knives or real fighter knives with the costume!

An easier Halloween costume is Ghostface. No trousers and a shirt/jacket but a robe.
My friend drew the outline of the knife he uses in the movie in cardboard and I added many layers, getting a nice, thicker cardboard knife!

Who is your favorite character?

My friend burned her text for the same effect.

What is your definition of a strong work culture...

A good question!
I don't have a fact-based or a researched answer for you. My gut feeling thinks about workaholism, burn-outs and generally people having less leisure time.
I just came to think through a Lemmy post/comment that a lower work culture can be a thing at all. Or is it a thing existing at all, in any country.

I've understood that America is a strong work culture, and Finland as well. But are there places with a lower work culture?

...what country are you from

Finland

Do you see a your definition of a strong work culture as a good, bad or neutral thing for the society?

Haven't thought of it. I feel neutral about it.

The only thing that concerns me is that there could be more burn-outs, more workaholism and more inflamed points of views towards the balance between work and leisure time in a stronger work culture.

Maybe we can come up with (new) cultural aspects that are involved with low consumerism?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 9 months ago

I am "with" the church since I got the same religion my parents got when I was born. I haven't left the church and I still pay the church tax, but that's it. I'm not religious myself.

I don't know religious people, there are none in my social circle. I don't know religious people's practices.

I know that fanatics can be found in many fields of life, not just religion, and I know that things can get messy in the bigger scale and that money and power are involved.
I don't have anything against religions either. I'm against acts that hurt people though. If a religion is the reason someone causes pain in others, that's not okay.

Are you saying that consumerism is the thing that mostly define culture?

New line? (lemmy.world)
submitted 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

After almost one month of using Lemmy I finally realised the first way to make a new line.

So far I have been

writing some text

in this space-taking way.

Now I know that through
adding the symbol \
after text you wrote
you can make a new line.

Are there any easier ways though? Hitting Enter once doesn't work for some reason.

Roulette (lemmy.world)

One of my favorite short horror stories. (I don't remember where I came across it)

We can see the users/time window, subscribers, posts and comments in the lower right side of a community.

Is there further data available? Examples: A line chart for every-day activity, and/or the most active members of a community and the amount of their posts/comments etc?

One of my favorite board games!

  • The game is never-ending (if you so choose). The cards are reshuffled and taken back in the game once they have been used
  • You can become all-mighty if you want to
  • Can have many different endings (options are up to the players)
  • Has lots of addons, giving new areas, cards, player characters, functions and endings
  • Has a rather cheap (base) game in Steam as well
  • Lots of stuff to remember what you can do, once you have spells and items and followers

Can one post app-making requests here?

I don't have app inquiries - just asking 😄

If you know the 20 questions -social (party) game, this is kinda the computer version of that. He can guess a character, and object or an animal. If he cannot guess what's on your mind, you can teach it to him!

I have played the most with Cassandra Classic. The other lady is nice too!

I've heard that Randy Random is the true GOD in this game though, and many swear in his name!😂

It's painful to keep clicking Next, next, next...

Is there a website/list that lists all the existing communities in full, without needing to load parts of it with extra input?

Ite oon käyttäny eniten S-ryhmän kauppoja. Alepa on minsan pääs himast.
