Alone - Richard E Byrd

Before this I read Endurance - Alfred Lansing, i came on it by chance while arguing about polar exploration with some friends and been loving the exploration stories, probably seek out another one when I'm done with Alone

It’s a beautifully sad anime, still play the album version of the free bird intro and blue flow song sometimes

That’s not really a fan cooling system in the picture, it’s something called a peltier cooler or thermoelectric heat pump, thing nearly goes to zero on most of them, very cool

Had nothing to do with the merger, hironobu sakaguchi was a major driving force at the company, the man knows how to create magic but not by himself by finding the best people for a project and throwing a concept and letting them imagine the most fantastical music/settings/stories, he made a crap extremely expensive movie called spirits within that flopped hard and got booted for nearly bankrupting the company, after that merger/money became more important to keep square from dying and the creative teams afloat and the rest is history

I just joined from reddit cause i used Apollo, kept hearing about lemmy but i tried it before and it looked confusing cause I’m pretty stupid when it comes to tech, i saw wefewef.app while browsing on safari and pressed it to find something of an app that looked like Apollo which is fkn terrific, the login process was kinda hard cause i kept making the account in a different place and tried to login to a different place, but once i figured it out everything is starting to feel familiar, long story short if people wanting to migrate find the new one daunting/confusing they would stick with the familiar and easy, wefwef.app is a game changer
