Biden is not closer to the GOP than the DNC. Either you are idolizing the GOP in thinking Biden could represent their platform, or you misunderstand that the DNC is not so far left from Bidens platform. Bernie is literally a different party but ran on the democratic platform for the elections, but the DNC itself identifies with Biden and Clinton politics.

There definitely could have been more communication going into this. You are within your right to refuse, and it sounds like you made that known beforehand. As for Eva, touching a person's face for a blind person is like looking at them. So I get why it would seem important, especially for supporting a sister's SO. It seems sad that ultimatums were dropped for this issue. Some healthy discussions before would have been best, but also could have have happened afterward too.
Nothing stops you from raising and talking about issues AND trying to use your vote to stop the fascist from getting into power. The "protest vote" is less effective than the discourse.
