They sound surprised?

Suggesting we all switch to a meat-heavy diet is the worst possible suggestion for us and for the planet.

Kids in my daughter's middle school were vaping. According to my daughter, a kid's mom was selling vapes through them to kids in the school. There will always be a market to sell kids contraband and plenty of kids will be happy to pay a premium for it regardless of what their parents say.

But in this case, with gender affirming care, it's generally a case where the parents also want the child to have that care. It's being denied despite what the parents, the child, and even their doctor wants.

And despite what some people may say, AA is a religious organization. If it helped you quit drinking, good. But it is religious. It was started as a prayer group and it is not based in anything scientific.

As for the "anything can be your higher power" nonsense, there is no rational way to interpret step 11 outside the framework of the worshiping of a deity:

  1. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

You replace 'God' with pretty much anything else and it becomes gibberish.

Xenophobia is a convenient excuse for everyone's problems.

Didn't they listen to the polling last time? They clearly should have run a lettuce.

Don't worry, I'm sure at least some of it is going to mine crypto.

And once again we see that there is no global situation that bigots can't twist to their advantage.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 hour ago

That's horrible. I hope they finally got to be who they really are.

That is a strange response to finding out you're not understanding the basic concept of the scientific method wherein a hypothesis has to be testable and a theory falsifiable is the cornerstone of modern science.

Take a new screenshot of what exactly? I'm sorry, I have no ability to uncensor an image that was censored before I even saw it. Those are beyond my elite hacker powers.

Yes, if you take that sentence completely out of context from the rest of the sentences in that summary, you don't need anything like testable hypotheses and falsifiable theories. But you do if you want to do science.

This is a 1963 book by the American Institute of Architects awarding the best designs for school fallout shelters.

A really nice-looking book. Like they spent some good money on it.

The Internet Archive has the weirdest stuff. I've been entertaining myself by browsing text collections lately.
