Consequences of night strikes on ammunition depots in Russian Toropets: "Schemes" publish satellite images

The images from the Planet Labs satellite, which are at the disposal of Radio Liberty journalists, show the consequences of the fire, which was still ongoing today as of 3:30 p.m. Kyiv time. There are also craters with a diameter of 50 to 90 meters from exploding shells.

This is the result of a night attack by Ukrainian drones on the warehouse of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on September 18. It is located on the territory of military unit #11777 in the city of Toropets, Tver region.

"Cheetah" is faster than "moped" πŸ’¨

This morning, one of the air defense units, which received over 10 million hryvnias of aid from us, successfully shot down an enemy drone. That's how it works - we help, they protect 🫢

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ "We make the wind," says Musician, a fighter from the 225th Separate Assault Battalion. His voice in this video from the border breakthrough clearly conveys the emotions of our team. We make the wind, and victory is ours!

This is likely only due to sanctions, but it's good to finally see it happen.

Downed (probably on 06.08.24) Ka-52 analogue aircraft from Podar with suspension πŸ‘‡

"Whirlwind" (9K121) is an ATGM developed in the 1980s, designed to destroy armored vehicles, including those equipped with anti-aircraft guns, as well as low-speed air targets. Designed for attack aircraft Su-25T, Su-39, Ka-50, Ka-52, as well as boats and small patrol ships.

In the realities of our war, this complex did not justify itself, after launch, it is necessary to hang in the air and accompany the missile "illuminating" the target. (more than one Ka-52 was shot down). There are also complexes of optical-electronic suppression (COEP, for example "Varta"), which can interfere with missile guidance.

"I know a guy, who met a guy, that may or may not have 800,000 artillery shells laying around."

Yeah, I think video editors get carried away sometimes.

It's usually an RPG warhead or DIY shrapnel explosive. When those two wires touch, it triggers the fuse.

The source probably didn't know the technical term. There is a direct translation in Ukranian, ΠšΠ°Π»Ρ‚Ρ€ΠΎΠΏ.

It's a correct translation. That's what they call cluster munitions.

Title updated to "caltrops"

People with little to no combat experience giving orders.

It's annoying, but I'll take sound effects over blaring music.
