The plot is surprisingly complex for what is cast as a “kids show” or “Trek for newbs”. Don’t watch it unless you have seen at least some of the Voyager series. The plot from S1 ties right into S2. I had a moment in S2E6 (or thereabouts) where my emotions got trigger when Janeway makes a tough choice.

The show works.

Halfway through and I’m enjoying it immensely. I’m in my middle age years so don’t tell me this show is for kids. Trek fans shouldn’t miss this series.

No they want the NYT to demonstrate that it actually wrote the articles.

For the noobs, you should explain what this actually is. All I have is a name and a date. No deets.

We made it over a century and a half, but only barely. I don’t think these words were meant to hold up in today’s society. How is it possible that you can quote somebody from TJ’s time and say that it is at all like our time? Let’s face it, he was just a prognosticating bullshitter. To look back at a quote like this to justify the actions of the present is a horrific and insensitive thing to do.

Well that’s just dumb. What about the rest of us?

Ya as a parent that would be your choice to make, but there really shouldn’t be anything wrong with nudity at any age.

Toddlers don’t sexualize everything like adults do, so there is nothing to explain, really.

Steam Oven? (lemmy.world)

I have a new Miele steam oven and you can “sous vide” with it. I quote that because you surround the bag/food with steam rather than a bath of liquid water. Not sure if that matters? It seems to work ok, but twice the meat came out under what I wanted, although I’m still learning and making progress with each try.

Who else uses a steam oven and what advice can you share?

Bad news everyone! Nobody is posting and I’m not getting my daily fix of Snu Snu, Mom slaps, Leela eye rolls, and of course opportunities to bite Bender’s shiny metal ass.

Let’s go folks!
