I've grown a bit tired of the Xbox experience as well with some of what you've mentioned. I also don't play every single game that comes out, just a select few with whatever free time I do have. I want to get away from online gameing if I can, though I'm not against it my preferences are just shifting so I want to gravitate more to single player games and currently I'm considering the next Switch console (Switch 2?) and just play all the first party games Nintendo is known for, Zelda, Mario, Starfox, etc and all their retro games that'll be on the online store. I could get lost for years with that content. Really excited to possibly have that option for myself in the future. Just thought I'd share a different perspective.

I think I'll just stick to playing retro games in emulators for free without a subscription. Sure I miss out on the latest and greatest games, but graphics aren't everything to me, the gameplay is more important to me. Plus, I really despise having to have subscriptions for everything. If Game Pass works for people, more power to those gamers, but I'm tired of giving what little income I have to billion dollar companies. /rant

Chips Act, Take 1: Hey Intel here's 8 Billion dollars to make us more chips in the US. Intel: I gotta let 15,000 of you go, there's just not enough money......

If you're still using Google Chrome in 2024, you might be a moron. #Firefox

It made me sick to my stomach after 15 minutes and I turned it off.

Holy crap this is a great tip I did not know! I haven't had a run in with the police in like a decade, but better safe than sorry. Hopefully I never need to use it, but I just tried it on my iphone and works like a charm, so thanks mate!

They only have 40 posts so I gave them a follow. It's when accounts have like 10k posts and an account is less than a year old that I won't follow them, I don't need that noise.

They will. And they'll take it to the Supreme Court, where they'll just install Trump as the winner of the election. Mark my words.

The Supreme Court ruled like a decade ago that cops DO NOT have a constitutional right to protect you. A cop can literally watch you get stabbed to death in the streets, and they are not obligated to help or stop it. Let that sink in.

Would it be possible to add an option to move the upvote/downvote area to the left side? It would be great for those that are left handed vs right handed.

We already have the ability to move the thumbnails to the left or right side, which is great and would love to see an option like this make its way in too. If it’s not possible no worries but I figured it can’t hurt to ask, thank you!

As you can see in the above screenshot, the communities on the left hand side like lemmyworld, technology, and microblogmemes all have different font sizes. This is very jarring and needs correcting, plus it’s much harder to read small fonts when it’s all squeezed in there.

One solution could be to put the communities name on the line above the post title or perhaps put it below the upvote/down vote line so it has more space. Please hope you can fix this, as it makes readability difficult, thank you.

This is a screenshot from Narwhal 2 (one of the last still active Reddit apps), and for context the layout is a lot more consistent. What I mean specifically is the community heading title is always on the far left indent, and it’s always color coded for easier readability. Also for consistency the upvote/downvote numbers are always on the far right indent. My eyes always know where these two things are in that regard. On Avelon the upvote numbers after the community title so the numbers/the button to upvote them aren’t always in the right place. This is a small nitpick to be sure, but as a graphic designer for consistency it would be great to keep things in places they should always be. If you have any further questions, I’m happy to expand and explain my reasonings. Also thank you so so much for making a wonderful app.

This may be an odd request but as it stands now there are at least two ways to upvote/downvote a post, either clicking the arrow buttons on the left side of the post or the big rounded buttons on the right side too.

I think for a very minimal, clean and simple look if you could add an option to remove/hide the big rounded upvote buttons. I normally tap the little small arrow on the left so the big rounded buttons take up space.

Please let me know if this is already being worked on or if it’s something you might consider to add in the future I’d greatly appreciate it.
