This was literally the size of my student housing apart unit. I could stretch my arms and touch the opposite walls.

A Raccoon would ask are humans evil for treating the world and nature as their privately owned land to do whatever they want without regards to other habitants.

I share this sentiment, however, you are talking about the system wide change. This is a long-term solution or a mid-term with revolution. I am talking about in the context of the current social and economical environment where no such system exisit. First there needs to an effort to more towards eliminating human labor for the benefit of the people BEFORE human labor is eliminated. Corporations and the rich do not care about the former. We cannot fall into this trap. AI and autonomous machines can be great for society as long as it is not at the cost of the working class. Technology is there or fast approaching, but society is not, policies are not. Corporations are.

I admit, it's very impressive and cool to see in person, but at what cost? This particular instance has taken away someone's job. There is no human remotely controlling it. Now imagine how many of these are currently out there and will be deployed in near future? For each one there is someone's income being taken away. Sure, we can argue that this autonomous machine has create jobs becuase, some had to build it. Yes, it's true, but those hired to manufacture are fraction of the lawnmowers needed to cut grass not one but throughout the spring had summer seasons. In a broader context, this is becoming an issue for many low skill jobs and essential jobs. (i.e. self-checkouts at fast foods and other retailers, security posts in airports, malls, etc.) Look up Amazon Digit to see what amazon is up. While many will find it beneficial and this is really hurting the class that needs the money the most, needs the health benefits that comes from there income.

The fact that the permit requires approval, whether it is always approved or not, it is still a permission to practice your free speech. Instead, it should be a notice by the people. This will allow the government to prepare for it. On the other hand, this notice should merely be a formality and not necessary.

In a real democracy, people should always have the right to practice their free speech that serves to protect the masses from exploitation or being oppressed. Furthermore, all public spaces are open to protest, whether they are in the middle of the street, in public squares, parks, inside and outside of government buildings, etc. The obstruction to traffic or anything else is merely a tool for the ruling class to act out violence against the peaceful protestors.

All universities, schools, and other places of knowledge whether public or private should be exempt from trespassing laws for the protestors.

People like to get technical about acting on your free speech versus right to free speech. This is a BS arguments that supports no one but the ruling classes.

In a real democracy, people have the power and government serves to obey the people, sadly, this is not the case in the US, and anyone that thinks otherwise are simply opportunist in the capitalist system or given in to the capitalist democracy propaganda.

Like any other protest by the working class, it needs to be sustainable. It can only be sustainable if there is organization. This is what occupy movement lacked. It had the right ingredients, passion, working class rights, youth led movement, grass roots. The only other vital ingredient missing was organizing.

What do I mean by organization? For sustainability of movements by the oppressed, there needs to be democratic centrailism (DC). DC allows for space for list of demands set forth by the protesters so movements is well documented. It give a space for natural movement leaders to raise their voices for said demends and speak through the protesters. Organization through fundraising, donations, creates concise message with effective dissemination, such as social media posts, posyers, and other means where the means of press and information sharing is not controlled by the ruling class (corporate interests and the government). This is the reason US government is hell bent of banning ticktok. Even with all its flaws, it is still a powerful organic information sharing medium that the US government has no control over (i.e. Israel and Palestine). Last but not least, organization allows a space people to organize and volunteer in the backend in order for the front line protesters to be effective.

BLM quickly realized this and formed and organized. MLK led civil rights movements and Malcolm X and the black panthers were also organized. The American revolution occurred because if was organized under a single set of messages and organization to sustain itself. Same for the Communist movement led by the working class against autocracy in the late 1800s. All of these movements and protests were/are sustainable because they were/are organized.

An organization led by the oppressed is as powerful its support from the protester. A true organic organization is not influenced by donating entities. Corporate donations almost always demand influence. A true Democratic Centralism organization is financially supported by the protesters first, then by small donations from supporters, including small, local businesses.

If there are enough people with similar believes for change (i.e. livable wage, workplace rights, social equality, gender equality, anti school shooting, defunding corrupted entities, etc.) there most likely an existing organization what you can join, support, volunteer you time. If there isn't and your believes include addressing the needs of the working class and/or the oppressed, chances arecmany others share this believe. They are all waiting for someone to at initiative. Take initiative and be the organizer, find others to help organize. If you are not comfortable in a visible leadership role, find someone who is and work together to create an organization that others like you have a place to go and spread the words in an effective way and make changes in you own communities.

When the working class protests take place organically, the organizations with similar believes will be in place, ready and armed to sustain the protest and be effective in its goals and document everything through various means.

Alien. Saw it when I was under 10 years old. I wouldn't say it haunts me but close enough.

No, what is an insult is the American electoral system where at the end of the day, your individual vote means nothing. Your so called representatives do not work for you. They only represent you only paper. They are there to enrich themselves through corporate dollar and stocks, because capitalism and individualism.
