Didn't read much of this, but saw someone quoting the bit about DotA Allstars. Just wanted to point out that DotA Allstars was loaded onto 10 PCs at Blizzcon 1 in 2005. Source: was there, played some DotA

Gonna need a new post if you want to get much visibility in the feed; hexbear's active sort is geared heavily towards relatively fresh posts

Reposting this thread myself because OP is not fully clear on how best to keep posts visible.

wife and i’s phone bills are due today and we heavily rely on them for practically everything from accessing funds to communicating when apart considering we dont have a reliable source of internet a lot of the time - and the month we were able to pay for at this motel is up on the 10th. to keep both on amounts to about $90 and for reference on rent it’s either $55/night, $250/week or $600/month (we stay at a motel for now) if anyone can please spare anything to help. we have no family as mine all passed away within the past year in separate incidents and no other support structure exists for us.. we honestly could really use help with food right now as well as help with paying for our medications as we havent been able to gather enough to pick up all of them but rent and phones are extremely more pressing right now ❤️🖤

TheaJo is a longtime member of this community, since just about the very beginning of the site, at which point she was unhoused IIRC. But she was able to secure housing and has been able to maintain it for multiple years. Now, though, she's at risk of losing that, so please help her avoid ending up back at square 1.

Thanks.

In reality it's the lever for the climate control inside the trolley

that's it, that's the post

Seriously, how is my Johnny-come-lately ass the first one to come up with this?

I warned you. I fucking warned you.

Looks like we upset a few too many kkkanada residents over at lemmy.ca. I didn't see a post about this on here, so I thought I'd go ahead and make one.

I totally realize most people are going to disagree with me here but I feel compelled to say that closing the site for a joke is a very kind thing to do. We have seen TONS of posts from vulnerable populations talking about how this site being closed is a source of support and humor in a dark time. Irony and dirtbagism aside, providing that support with advance warning is okay.

You can say I'm being silly, or humorless or reactionary. Whatever. I love the show and I love this community. But sometimes I come home after dealing with ableism and our nightmare reality all day, and this site being closed is one of many things that make me feel better. It isn't a good feeling to find this site still up for the sake of irony. Maybe that's laughable or pathetic. But for me, it's true.

The rhetoric and goal of Hexbar are clear based on their announcement: to “dismantle western propaganda” and "demolish organizations such as NATO” shows that Hexbar has no intention of "respecting the rules of the community instance in which they are posting/commenting.” It’s to push their beliefs and ideology.

lol. lmao even
