Great points. Note: I’m not arguing against it as a concept. I’m just skeptical that it’ll happen, and even if it did, there wouldn’t likely be terrible consequences for the accused, especially as that’s what science is… new facts change the outcome vs choosing an outcome and matching facts to it.
Which scooter has Air Conditioning? I have to wear a dress shirt and slacks pretty often. Showing up drenched in sweat doesn’t work for most people.
I really think that there is a market for whether I cheekily refer to as an OPEC (One Person Electric Car). Aim for a $5-7k price tag. 100 miles of range, max of 80 mph. USA federal refs would require a backup camera but I’d save $ by requiring the end user to bring an iPhone or Android device for any mapping, or infotainment via a single speaker. AC and Heat would be required as I’d expect this to be a commuter car. Storage can be minuscule to non existent as this would not be a standard grocery getter… maybe a big backpack size compartment so the business user can fit their laptop… Make it small but ok to drive 20 minutes back and forth to the office or for the quick errand. A good second car.
Are you expecting that the for-profit college will go back and retroactively rescind degrees? What's the end-game for re-running the thesis?
Article is paywalled, but love the headline. Imagine a future with energy as an essentially free resource. We have a LONG way to go, but just the fact that we are moving in the right direction gives me a glimmer of hope for the future.
The more ineffectual the USA is, the easier it is for PuttyPoot to enrich himself. He’s spending a TON of money to buy an entire wing of a political party.
Actually the low cost part of this was that they weren't upgraded cells. Just tested-good cells from other battery packs. Most of the time it's just a couple cells in the bigger battery that have issues, and they take those out of the pool and make a good amount of $$$ because we were required to send back all of our cells. Assuming that of the 26 (iirc) cells that 3 or 4 were bad that's a big profit margin for sure. The car worked great after swapping them out.
If they need to cut power, I'll suggest that they start with this address: 1010 Colorado St, Austin, TX 78701
How dare you blashpheme Texas' lord and savior... checks notes... big business!
Truth be told, i'm somewhat on the fence about tolls. Charges the actual users vs 'everybody at random'. Generally I'm against them tho, as it tends to punish lower wage earners a lot more than higher wage earners. The economics of it tend to skew richer people to move to areas with more tolls tho, as they take that cost into account as a smaller portion of their overall budget.
I hear Russia is really nice this time of year. There are a few that have gone ahead, like Steven Segal!
I do love me some Wasabi (even when it’s mostly just horseradish).
