heatwaves everywhere.....

Agreed. Some numbers for Phoenix this year -

70
The number of days this year of 110° or hotter, which is a new record. The previous record was 55 days, set in 2023

138
The number of days this year of 100° or hotter. The current record is 145 days, set in 2020. We are going to cool down a bit after the weekend, so we'll be sitting at about 142. But, the latest we've ever had a 100° day is October 27th, so we've still got an outside shot at setting a new record.

113
The number of consecutive days this year of 100° or hotter. The previous record was 76 days, set in 1993.

16
The number of current days in a row of setting / tying a new all-time high each day. This streak started on September 25th and is expected to go through Monday, likely putting the total at 20. The previous record anywhere in the US for a streak like this was 14, set in Iowa in 1936 during the Dust Bowl.

Yeah, I'm neurodivergent and have a terrible memory. My life is full of alarms and notes and reminders for everything, otherwise nothing gets done.

While I'm well aware of the insidiousness of tech's ever increasing privacy violations, I also look forward to things like AI being able to function as a full blown personal assistant to help me run my life.

Yup. For those that don't know, that's essentially how utf-8 works -

Get a LaserJet, then you don't have to worry about not using it often. I bought a used black and white one for $50 when I needed to print legal paperwork (~100 pages, multiple drafts, and then needing to file in triplicate meant it was muuuch cheaper to buy a printer than to go to a print shop). The toner cartridge is about $20 and lasts over a thousand pages.

There's one in Arizona heading north between Phoenix and Tucson that says 951 miles behind you.

Banal conspiracy theories are often "gateway drugs" to much more insidious ones...

Sorry, I agree with you. It reminded me of this line from Biden during the 2020 debate with Trump. It had similar energy to what you're saying and just cut through Trump's bullshit to highlight what we were all thinking.

Had similar problems with my P6P. There are multiple areas in my town where I show full / nearly full bars, but my service is terrible or non-existent (!). If I toggle Airplane Mode, I'll get great speeds until it drops out again. Sometimes this is 30 seconds, sometimes 30 minutes, sometimes hours/days. But at some point it will drop out again. Ugh...

It was pretty funny to see these back to back in my feed.
