For exterior doors....? More than likely those are meant for interior use, and someone is being cheap and installing them for exterior use.

Either that or they just appear to be affixed together, but will still operate the tumbler even if one is being held in place.

The reason they don't really use a single spindle anymore is because it makes them extremely easy to brute force. You can literally just knock the handle off and access and operate the latch assembly.

Dental eugenol, it's a fairly powerful local analgesic made from clove oil. Some people have adverse reactions to it and so it isn't used as frequently as it used to. So I would recommend applying it in a small test area before applying it more liberally.

You can buy it online fairly cheaply.

Don't defend the osprey, it's not good for your health. It knows when you're lying and will retaliate in the only way a rotary aircraft with even more moving parts knows how.

Unless this handle is ancient or was originally for an interior door, then this is just for Internet points.

Pretty much all modern exterior door knobs can turn from one side, even if the knob on the other side is being held in place. On older doors or doors made for interiors you can still find a spindle that connects one knob to the other.

However, in modern door knobs each knob is connected to the tumbler cylinder via independent shanks. So blocking one or destroying the outside knob doesn't trap the occupant inside.

Not sure if that would really help the whole availability issue. We already force a large population of physicians to be on call 24/7 because there aren't enough to go around.

The biggest difference would have been avoiding the sino-soviet schism.

The modern hate within communities like hexbear and ml for Trotsky is kinda ironic given that most of them are fans of Mao. Especially considering the split between Stalin and Trotsky began over what to do with China.

Stalin wanted to support the KMT, further dividing the country and enabling him to take mongolia and parts of northern China. Trotsky wanted to aid the CCP, and eventually create a global network of communist countries. This ran counter to Stalin's agenda of communism under one united country.

I, too, have not been endorsed by Taylor Swift. I'm not so weird about it that I feel the need to fake it.

Hello fan and friend. It is I, famous singer Taylor Swift. Here today to endorse (insert name), a very good friend and fan. Please private message me for postage/payment information and to receive your signed endorsement from me, Taylor Swift.

why are entire treaties being drafted specifically to exclude anime from underage sexual content enforcement?

I don't see how that conflicts with anything I said? The UN drafting importation legislation doesn't really have anything to do with Japan's domestic consumption.

It just means Japan is protecting one of its largest exports and the UN is keen to protect diplomatic relations and commerce.

This isn't exactly "replacing" anyone with AI, they're just utilizing AI as an excuse to move money around while reassuring their investors. More than likely just a way to outsource jobs overseas and give management a raise.

My dude, I have autism. My wife has autism, ADHD, accompanied with early childhood trauma, and is bi. It does not give anyone a pass to be an abusive spouse, or allow them to coerce anyone into agreeing to an open relationship.

Really? Because other than weird outliers like Cutie or whatever, that's not really a thing in American culture

The majority of anime is not made for Japan's general domestic market. There are niches in Japanese society who consume weird anime, but it's not like your everyday normal business dude is watching them.

It's just a weird culture overall - everyone being shamed into looking exactly the same, insane emphasis on working so hard you keel over from it, etc.

That's just because they've lived in what is essentially a defanged fascist government since the end of WW2. During the Meiji restoration they basically destroyed their own culture and reinvented themselves as empirical conquerors. Unlike Germany after ww2 the empirical ruling class wasn't prevented from participating in government, so they've basically had a long line of war criminals followed by the children of war criminals controlling the government since.

It's not that large of an incursion force, I think something like 2k of some of their better troops who would normally be acting as a quick ground reaction force. So they aren't really moving people off of the front line, though they may have lost the ability to quickly reinforce one front or another.

From what I've seen, the salient is being used to probe the strength of the Russian's western flank. It doesn't appear that Russia was expecting an offensive, and didn't have their own version of a quick reaction force held in reserve.

Unless the Russians can move men and more importantly artillery to the area, there's a risk the salient could be used to roll their western flank, cutting of their border guards from their supply lines.
