Living is an extremely high demand product and capitalists have realised that they can charge whatever they want for it.

The Steam Deck + OLED revision are pretty recent and nowhere near the age of a normal console cycle. The OLED revision was a pretty big upgrade and <1 year old. The internet is already desperate for a Deck 2? Valve could print money by doing what phone manufacturers do with miniscule yearly upgrades and forever creeping price. People would fall over themselves to avoid FOMO for the newest console. I'm really glad Valve is doing better than that.

What's going on with YouTube video downloading? Any route I take to try to download, it only gives me the option of 1080p video only and a different option for audio only. I've recently downloaded a couple of videos my kids watch for offline use and I had to put the downloaded files into a video editor to combine the audio and video myself.

Here's one video I wanted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O2g3Ql3nRU

There is nothing to be embarrassed about. When you stop enjoying, you stop playing. I'm having a lot more fun doing that. Many universally loved games, I will ditch in 10 hours or so just because I find them painfully boring (Super Mario Odyssey, Metroid Prime). Others I'll enjoy for a while and might give up when they're 80% complete (Spider-Man Remastered). I have left one game right at the last boss fight because I had had enough (Guacamelee 2, loved that game, gave it up at 95%), and I loved the experience and I've never gone back. Just play as much as you enjoy.

Absolutely right!

Don't dunk on people for liking things and let everyone enjoy..... but I refuse to keep quiet about things I don't like. The best talks with friends are about movies/games/shows they liked and that I didn't like. What did they like about it? Why have we both seen the same thing and taken away something completely different? Maybe I'll go back and watch it again. Maybe we'll laugh about it.

There is a non-toxic way to talk about what you don't like....if you can't be non-toxic then keep your mouth shut. If you're the sort to get personally offended when someone says they didn't enjoy a show you liked, then there's something wrong with you.

Normalise talking about opinions without causing or taking offence. Accept that everyone is entitled to their opinion and the opinions in people's heads cannot hurt you.

I'm watching it bit by bit every day. I'm enjoying it. Especially since I tried watching Picard and bailed out half way through season 1 because it was so bad. Then I watched all of season 3 because people recommended it.

I would say I enjoy watching YouTube videos of people talking about bad movies/TV, way more than actually watching good movies/TV.

My 3 year old's pretend play is the best to listen in to. He has little Batman and Joker figurines.

Batman: Joker, you're going to jail.

Joker: awww :(

Batman: now I'm going to go down this slide, weeee.

I've obtained the Lego Batman movie to watch with him and I think it may be just his kind of thing.

There is no reason to push her towards gender stereotypes. If she likes the look of a game then why don't you just let her play one of the many "boy's games" you mention are available.

If you're still looking for a suggestion then Stardew Valley is on mobile and a great game (although it is about farming and crafting rather than caring for a doll)
