I know exactly what you mean. I was like that for so long, and for me, for some reason, one moment about 25 years ago everything changed and my general perspective that I had had for so long shifted, and I found a way to let go of the negativity and instead embrace the positivity. The whole moment lasted maybe a minute, and after that my life was different. No drugs or anything involved. I was literally just standing in my doorway looking at some tall grass blowing in the wind, noticing the beauty that was right there waiting to be found.

That's probably not helpful because there's no way I could help somebody find what I experienced, but maybe it'll be hopeful.

The human psyche is really complicated.

I am interested to see their written definition of "woke".

I'm surprised they didn't try to sell it to an ad company.

The difference in pay is easier to understand if we keep the time increments the same:

Dude: $16/hr

Bezos: $9,000,000/hr

Bezos makes 562,500 times as much.

Edit: added a missing zero

"people", not "companies". Given that he uses AI, he's obviously ok with companies stealing it.

Most useful? Without a doubt, my laptop. The amount of things that can be done with a modern computer is pretty stunning, and a portable one is arguably more useful.

Other than that, maybe my car keys because the amount of things you can do with a car is stunning, but you need the keys to start it, and the car isn't in this room.

The list is way smaller than I expected.

“Does Big Brother exist?”

“Of course he exists. The Party exists. Big Brother is the embodiment of the Party.”

Judging by the proximity of those cars, lots of people here are in violation.

I feel sorry for anyone whose entire personality requires being hateful 24 hours a day like that.

I wonder if he realizes how emotional he's being. Hate is an emotion, after all.

They append the word "no" to the statement.

"How are you?" Is "you're good, no?" But the word "no" does not have a rising tone.

Tonal languages are hard for non-tonal language speakers to pick up because of this. On the flip side, it can be tough for tonal language speakers to grasp the tonal inflections in English, and sometimes speak like robots before they understand how to use them.
