Used RIF for 10+ years. Didn't care about all of the rewards stuff, but RIF going away did me in. The official Reddit app is so bad.

Seeing how good Lemmy is makes me frustrated with Mastodon in c/[email protected]

I agree. The thing I like about Mastodon is that I made friends and met other people with similar interests. Nobody is trying to make interaction bait, it's great.
