Throw in some Fahrenheit 451 and you get the Matrix.

No, but first time I was a child. I’m having a lot of moments where I’m like how’d I beat this as a child?

I never think about the Roman Empire, the most historic thought I have regularly is “he probably pronounced his own name Napoleon-eh”

A lot of them are “data scientists” and it’s really funny how they seem completely lost when they don’t have a boss to build their opinions around. Like oh go figure the guy whose entire career is to compliment rich people by finding the charts they’ll like the most is actually not that great at getting meaningful conclusions from limited data.

This election is so fucking annoying. I hate the data guys, but they’re somehow more insufferable now than ever. Like the evidence does seem to tilt towards left-wing voters largely staying home. A few progressive issues in blue states underperformed and their explanation is that all opinion polling is wrong, and the entire nation had a sudden right wing shift, instead of the much more obvious conclusion that the electorate this election was more conservative than usual and than the nation as a whole.

one thing we’ve all forgotten during the trump era is just how much republicans focus group everything they say. Like the “military aged” part of this is complete nonsense, until you remember their whole thing is to run focus groups to see which phrases get people the most worked up. It’s such a deranged party, and they’re essentially built on the social media algorithm logic of A/B testing and figuring out what makes people the angriest. No wonder they’ve completely taken over facebook.
