This goddamn awful country built on settler colonial genocide can’t freaking help support another just like it.

I’m beside myself with impotent rage.

Poor development! If something can be done, people will do it.

Best way is to not allow it and provide no feedback.

You don’t seize an airplane when it’s not your country or property. You are just stealing.

US stole an airplane belonging to the head of state of a sovereign nation.

Hosting video is exactly elastic demand and a perfect use case for cloud computing. But not every business hosts video.

I’ve worked with companies that are moving at least some of their infrastructure back on premises.

There’s tons of good reasons to use IAAS, but there’s also a reason folks joke about the cost of aws.

Cloud computing CAN be cheaper but it can also be way more expensive. It is not a panacea.

It’s cheaper for companies that have unpredictable traffic/capacity. It lets you scale up/down without having build out physically.

For businesses with steady, predictable traffic it can be far more expensive. You buy the servers, you own them. They can run for years.

Cloud can get pricey veeeery quickly.

Our group got hit with this today. We don’t have a choice. If you want to run Windows, you have to install this software.

It’s why stuff like this is so crippling. Individual organizations within companies have to follow corporate mandates, even if they don’t agree.

It is galling to hear corporate run media talk about freedom of the press.

Nearly everything is made in China or has parts or materials from China.

Actual war would shut down pipelines for medicine, consumer electronics of every kind, appliances, tools, reagents, etc

I don’t know if people realize how reliant we are on China.

Back when there were "mom and pop" AirBnb, maybe this was a bad thing. Now, a huge number of rentals are owned by companies with big portfolios specializing in short term rentals.

It's become a really big problem in certain cities.

I don't see this as a bad thing.
