Hopefully people will as I hate switching between different platforms and it’s one of the reasons I enjoy the fediverse

The reason it would be good is it would bring those who aren’t creators come across. That would be good to have as it would allow for more people and content to come across. The reason this is good as it would stop people having to mix between social media and the fediverse

It helps grow with creators and those who will be looking for an alternative to places like TikTok in projects like @loops

CashApp is only really used in America, it’s basically unheard of over here in the UK

So Threads? That's getting progress on coming to the Fediverse. Guess we would have lots more people join through that.

Thank you, Yeah Donations seem like the only way people can really do anything massive, well not taking away from what the Fediverse is and needs to be. An ad-free, free speech place that doesn't take your data.

I'm sure people who move from Video based platforms could also take sponsorships like they normally do across YouTube and Twitch.

It would be nice for the Subscription platforms like Ko-Fi to have some sort of way to integrate your posts into the Fediverse in the future.

That would be a very cool idea if it could be done across the Fediverse but annoyingly it might only be per-instance especially as most probably don't want to deal with Transactions across ActivityPub as that could get shady real quick.

Good idea though as it would be amazing to spread the cost between the instance you and the receiver are using as well as the person you are donating to.

@morgin Facetime you need to have an iPad or iPhone to connect to, then you can see them on your screen and use the AppleTV to see everyone else on screen.

I wouldn't say it would take more than 20 years. People are already annoyed with how much social media they have to move between, as well as the data collecting and adverts they get.

It's that or if some of these bigger creators, stars or business' move across to the Fediverse as their way of communication, then that would increase the user base.

I read something about ActivityPub 2.0 being pushed for more feedback from the developers of Instances talking, so hopefully that brings more talk and direction between instances.

Lemmy would be amazing if it had some unique communities that people have been looking for, for years on Reddit. It could be a way to get Lemmy to grow.

I know there is crossover between places like Mastodon and Lemmy as at the moment I'm using Mastodon to talk to everyone on Lemmy but certainly could be improved.

I know people that use Reddit & Twitter purely for their NSFW content, So I don't think taking away Fediverse NSFW content would work for those types of people.

Yeah, from what I have seen from everyone, donations are probably one of the few ways people can really get around all of this.

What is fair enough, even for creators as they normally take sponsors or shout out there Patreon, Ko-Fi or other way of donating to them.

Just unsure how that would with short-form content if TikTok goes away and @loops grows for those finding an alternative.
