I've legit actually followed along on a couple paintings after getting some basic kit oil. I would have to pause a lot, but following the technique actually helped me get some nice results. I know it's kitsch, but that's not the point. He enjoyed what he did and he wanted other people to be able to get in to it, enjoy it, and connect with other's using art. I had always gotten the impression that he saw himself as a stepping stone to people pursuing artistic expression overall. He was also the original ASMR. As far as his technique, he honed it while in the Air Force and stationed in Alaska (painting what he saw around him of course), and further polished it when he got out and did art full time. If you do stuff like this day in and day out for years, you'll get fast too. He also did a lot of shortcuts as others have said. Personally, I think he was great for the simplicity and accessibility. I've taken what I learned painting with oil and been able to use similar/modified techniques to do some really cool stuff with acrylic, finishing wood, painting houses, pottery painting, arranging composition, color mixing, and even photography. I pay attention to details and it honestly has helped make any of my artistic pursuits more enjoyable.

I'm becoming a bit of a cinephile, and I'd really like to experience the greatness of Soviet cinema but I don't know where to begin. Hit me with those recs!

If y'all see me post that I'm going on a cruise, just know that I will be self immolating while loading up my plate at the all you can eat buffet. I cannot stand cruises and we have some friends that keep suggesting we should go on a Disney cruise... I can't express my disdain for the cruise industry without having people never wanting to talk to me again.

After all the shit that's come down the past few years, and especially the past 6 months, I'm pretty much convinced it's intentional at this point. These blood thirsty freaks are all on the same side and they're just taking the mask off.

Oh great... we're all going to die because of a spiteful old man.

So are they going to throw officers in the brig because they made tactical mistakes? I'm getting a feeling (maybe it's hopium) that these people are like a dog catching a car.

Chat, is this real? hasan-ok-dude

Edit: I'm a rube - it's fake. :-(

cognitohazard warning: discussion of South Park and animal sexual abuse.

South Park Season 2, episode 4 - Chickenlover.

This episode explains US policy, both foreign and domestic. The brief synopsis of the episode is that an eccentric children's reading bus (it's a mini library built into a school bus) driver pulls into town to promote reading and literacy. The kids check out the books and such and carry on. However, there's a commotion in town that the towns only police officer, Officer Barbrady, is dispatched to assess. He arrives on the scene of a clearly distressed hen and the local farmer explains that the chicken has been fucked. Local onlookers gasp and people ask who would do such a thing. A note was left by the perpetrator for Officer Barbrady to give him a clue. Barbrady however, only sees an incoherent missmash of letters and nervously disperses the crowd. To try to decode the message, he consults with the reading bus guy, who discovers that the officer is actually illiterate!

Later, another chicken is fucked, and another note is left. Barbrady continues to consult with his new tutor to solve the case of the serial chicken fucker, and learns to read as he goes. More chickens, more notes, repeat. Until the final clue reveals that the eccentric bus driver is the one fucking the chickens all along!! And with a crowd present for the confrontation and arrest, the reading bus guy explains "I had to fuck chickens to get you to read!!"

Clearly, the freak just wanted to fuck chickens, and since he knows this is some sick shit, be builds up an elaborate justification. This is a direct analog to US political problem solving.

If a small Latin American country wants freedom and democracy, let's bomb the shit out of them to bring them democracy.

If Jonny Q. Public living in poverty wants a good meal for him and his family, better cut food stamps so he'll get a job to feed his family!

I have to commit genocide to get you to vote for democracy!

We have to ethnically cleanse Gaza to get rid of Hamas!

So yeah, that's my half baked theory on how we're all ruled by a bunch of chicken fuckers. Not sure if the creators intended for there to be any moral of the story to be honest, I kinda just got the vibe that they wanted to write an episode about fucking chickens...

Any way, see where you can spot when politicians are using this logic, or how our news media spins US imperialism. Next time you see it, you might just mutter "bunch of goddamn chicken fuckers".

The local school board, county commissioners, sheriff, prosecutor, mayor, fucking everyone. All of them are chuds or q Anon freaks.

blob-no-thoughts

Every 4 years, like a gassy cicada, I get centrist brainworms and emerge to look at electoral politics. I am a LIB on this glorious day.

This is my analysis and forecast before I unplug from this shit till tomorrow, maybe even later. You get a blurb and a map, if you want live coverage tune into Hasan, Majority Report, Central Comity, Chapo, etc.

I picked through some polls and tuned into the vibes - I say Harris takes the electoral college, but we all lose in the end. I get the sense that Trump has been over estimated this round because of Roe v. Wade primarily. Up until a few days ago, my money was on Trump still, but the latest Iowa poll flipped my opinion. Here's my swing state takes.

NV - Harris has generally kept a small lead in the polls for the majority of the time, and I don't think many people have flipped.

AZ - Trend over the past elections have been shifting to GOP, and polling has held slightly in Trump's favor.

NC - Historical trend has been moving towards Dems, and the overall trend line of the polling this round tells me that it's flipping this time around. Trump has been campaigning his ass off there - I think his campaign sees the writing on the wall. Their governor is wildly unpopular.

IA - Des Moines Register poll - they don't seem to miss. I say IA flips this time.

WI, MI, PA - "Blue wall" holds, women voters pissed about abortion overcomes the uncommitted vote. Harris' latest speech on Gaza used some harder language that I think will pull in more of those votes. I think Puerto Rican voters are going to be a factor in PA.

GA - Back to GOP. I think the chuds are fired up and are going to turn out more than last time because of how close it was.

So, there ya go. Click the link and click on the states to flip things around if you want to make a prediction map.

Go and touch-grass, it's good for you. Death to Amerikkka. partiotism

What's your wild card take on the shit show?

Edit: Click on the states to flip them around.

I mean this in a serious way. Like, I'm so sick of the goddamn spectacle of these ghouls. They smile and lie to us with blood splattered on their faces, chanting their vacuous slogans, forming cults of personality. And every 4 years, we can't escape their names and poison words being drilled into our fucking heads from every angle. I'm tired, and sick of seeing their faces, I'm always sick of the stress of politics, but it just feels like additional screws being tightened for no discernable gain or benefit.

stalin-stressed

It'd be his first good punchline.

I'm writing in "Blumpkin" for president.

That's it, that's the post.
