It's going to be an Air Bud moment: "There's no rule that says you have to be alive to run for office!!".

[-] [email protected] 10 points 6 hours ago

That can be arranged.

Undoubtedly they have their operatives that could do this, but why run the risk if nature is doing its thing?

I've been around too many old folks dying to have confidence that he'll drop dead - people are resilient. Some rando schmuck getting pumped full of amphetamines like him would, but he's got the best healthcare in the world. At least it seems like the donors were already revolting half way through the debate...

He's guaranteed to lose now. I can't see a universe where the mental gymnastics add up to deciding that this is a good idea. Don't get me wrong, it'd be funny as hell. But I'm really not looking forward to the idea of more Trump.

[-] [email protected] 20 points 8 hours ago

At this rate I feel like the DNC isn't even controlled opposition, they're a GOP op intentionally rolling out the red carpet for Trump.

It is now illegal to be conservative. Those caught trying to be conservative will be stripped of their gender and turned gay.

I'm with the lot of people saying that killing animals isn't inherently bad, but the industrial meat industry is. I get pasture raised stuff whenever I can, try to get my meat from local small farms etc.

My non-ethics concerned reason: culinary arts. I'm a hell of a chef, and I love making meals that bring people together. I cook vegan meals often and love it as a different exercise. In more recent years I've reduced my meat intake tho. As far as dairy, you can pry my cheese from my cold dead hands (doc said I need to curb my cheese intake because my cholesterol was high tho...).

The Q brained conspiracy theorists are aging boomers slipping into dementia. As their brain is melting out of their ears, they're miss-remembering episodes of the x files. That's it. If you watch the series, there's a piece of every conspiracy theory in it.

You can thank Chris Carter for Q Anon. think-about-it

I regrettably was put through the christian "school system" in the 90's-early 00's. It was shit. I spent my first couple years in college having to learn some basics and unlearn a lot of bullshit. Being neurodivergent (ADHD) I got put into their special ed programming, which mostly consisted of getting tracked to low paying service work and stuck in a study hall where the alleged SpEd teachers just sneared at us delinquent kids. Anyway, in highschool you have christian classes including Bible studies, and Christian ethics. First one is true to the name, studying the text, but the second was nothing short of conservative bigot indoctrination. I can't stress enough how much this shit was just cult brainwashing, but that's not the point of why I'm sharing this.

I had a dream yesterday where I remembered one of the segments. The teacher showed us a Calvin Klein ad poster and explained why it was so bad. You see, this feminine looking model here is actually a man!! Basically, every model was "not really" the gender they presented as. 'Be careful what you expose your eyes to so Satan doesn't work his way into your head' or whatever the lesson was. I remember having this learned response of "oh no, bad thing!", but not understanding what the actual problem was. I also looked closer at the picture and still didn't understand, they looked nice... Of course I know now that he was just being a transphobic bigot, but there was no language for it, they would just call it "the work of the devil" or some shit like that. I didn't know what to call people like that.

I just feel gross, they deprived me of language for so damn long. The whole system is a cult, and they kept me so isolated and uneducated I didn't know who I was till I was in my 30's. God damn America, that's in the Bible!

Some pretty cool stuff, but the standout was a socialist group handing out flyers. I told my friend they're probably Trots. Passed by them and they tried to get me to sign a petition to get their candidate on the ballot. They open with telling me that they're Trots lol!

It looks worse in person lol! I love the idea of really pushing the envelope with design, but this was shit. None of the panels were flat, they were all visibly wavy from a distance. The plastic bits looked like cheap, low grade junk that gets used in dollar store toys, and they were wavy too. The gaps were okay... so, congrats? Unedited pics of it look better honestly. Once you can see the fine details in person you can't help but not take it seriously. I've gone to auto shows, I've seen one off concept cars that don't even have an engine that look better quality than this. What an absolute joke.

So, I'm not publicly out, and I can pass either way (except voice of friggin course), and I am attending a wedding as a guest soon. The families are white, bougie, mid western and maybe conservative-ish. The other side is some shade of middle eastern, conservative, Muslim and Arab influences (I don't know the families at all). I have no desire to draw attention so I'm going to go in boy-mode, but I also don't want to feel like shit the whole time. Anyone ever find a good way to balance things without firing up the dysphoria into overdrive? I would love to be in a nice sun dress of course, but it ain't happening. I have some mens suits and plenty of menswear formal-ish attire that I can work with. Anyway, anyone got any thoughts?

Chauvin appealed his second-degree murder conviction and requested a public defender to represent him on appeal. The Minnesota Supreme Court denied Chauvin's request for a public defender, ruling that his financial state rendered him ineligible. Chauvin later hired attorney William Mohrman to represent him.[99] In April 2022, Chauvin appealed to the Minnesota Court of Appeals, asking the court to reverse his conviction and order a new trial, in a new venue, claiming that the jury of the case in the state had been "intimidated by excessive pre-trial publicity".[100] Chauvin's lawyer further stated that the settlement reached between the city of Minneapolis and the Floyd family for $27 million during jury selection amounted to prejudice.[101] In April 2023, a three-judge panel of the Court of Appeals issued a 50-page decision affirming the conviction.[102] Chauvin asked the Minnesota Supreme Court to review the case, but was denied in July 2023.[103]

Chauvin's lawyer asked the Supreme Court of the United States to review the case.[104] The appeal centered on the claim by Chauvin that he did not receive a fair trial due to pre-trial publicity and that potential civil unrest if he was acquitted may have influenced the jury.[105] In an interview from prison for a documentary released on November 16, 2023 by the right-wing[106] media organization Alpha News, Chauvin said, "At the end of the day, the whole trial including sentencing was a sham."[107] The Supreme Court declined to hear Chauvin's case on November 20, 2023,[108] which left in place the state court rulings that affirmed his conviction and for his sentence of 22+1โ„2 years in prison.[17]

Lol, die mad.
