That's March 14th, Albert Einstein's birthday. But I don't celebrate that, because I'm a Tauist.

Excuse you, sir, but you should be keeping the LEM in you hearts every day. And you call yourself an America. For shame.

The best chance to unscrew the electoral college is the interstate national vote pact. It's close, but there aren't enough blue states left to pass it. So it's unlikely, but more likely than a constitutional amendment.

OH MY GOD YES! That's who he always reminded me of. Thank you, I couldn't place it.

It's stupid, yes, but there is a reason. The electric company pays to maintain the infrastructure. They trim trees and fix downed lines, and they pay for it by selling you energy.

Now, if you don't buy energy, you aren't using the lines. That's acceptable, because they know you might buy energy in the future, so maintenance is still worth the investment. But if you're selling energy bsck to the grid, you're using the infrastructure and they have to pay you for running your meter backwards. Even paying you a reduced rate for the energy you produce is a losing proposition for them.

Also, bribery is legal, and energy providers have a lot of money. They can afford to buy politicians, so if there's a way they can make it illegal to lose money, then they will. And they have.

I agree with the sentiment, and I support an end to the genocide in Israel.

But that's not how politics works. A majority of Democrats might disapprove of wearing blue hats, the important question is whether it will swing their vote. The key concept is "single-issue voters." For most Democrats, supporting a genocide isn't a deal-breaker. They might oppose it in polls, but they will still vote for Harris even if she doesn't criticize Israel. Meanwhile, there are a significant number of single-issue voters who support Israel, and will absolutely not vote for Harris if she criticizes Israel.

And they know Trump is an anti-semite.

But they will vote for Trump because he has the support of Netanyahu. Taking a stand on Israel will give Trump a target, a talking point he will ride into the ground.

The Democrats are trying to thread the needle, and doing a poor job of it. They have run the numbers, and decided that Biden can keep calling for peace while remaining a staunch ally, and Harris and Walz can be out listening to progressives on the issue, and neither side will be so pissed off that they turn up to vote against Democrats.

It would be a fascinating political experiment, if not for all the children dying because of it.

It's weird that he made such a big deal about shaving his pornstache.

I don't even know if Harris is a better candidate, but I do think she's better prepared to face Trump and I am enjoying the public implosion.

Tim is actually a ballroom dance enthusiast, and designed his own training apparatus to help people learn to dance without a partner and without taking up any floorspace. They sell them as Walz' Waltzes Wallses.

I'm hopeful, too, but I would rather Trump be in prison than be the Republican nominee, even if it means Harris faces a "tougher" opponent.

OK, but that's exactly what Democrats said in 2016 about Hillary.

I heard someone say this in a video recipe, followed by way more cheese than you should eat at once. It occurred to me that the phrase means ample, not nutritious.

Basically title. I'm curious how others are watch the game. I cut cable a long time ago, and have Hulu live for this season, but it's just awful. Their app sucks, the unskippable ads are all over the place, and tonight it started recording at 4:30.

So what is everyone else using?

Has this ever happened to you? There's a fly in the house, buzzing around you, so you go to the cabinet to get the swatter. But as soon as you start wielding it, the little bastard disappears. You set it down, and now he's back, taunting you.

Ok so obviously flies don't taunt, but do they have the capacity to recognize, even instinctually, that I'm holding a deadly weapon?
