I have a UVC capture card that I use to play my Switch. Currently, I utilize it via the full screen projector feature of OBS, but the Switch is 1080p while my monitor is 4k and the upscaling that OBS uses causes some noticeable artifacts.

I’m wondering if there’s an application with some configurable upscaling options that would make this experience better. I don’t need anything crazy that would cause noticeable input lag, but anything even slightly better than OBS would be welcome

Considering how much Google has entrenched itself into the Internet (see manifest v3 fiasco), I would argue that creating a new browser is a fork of the web

Is there a good aggregator for demos? Or should I just start watching some on YouTube and hope the algorithm starts including them?

Probably once Intel decides to buy ARM so that they don’t have to compete anymore

“I’m apolitical” == “I have political opinions that are too extremist even for political parties”

Wow you just shined a ton of light on a problem my company had. We wanted to implement a medical imaging system from one of their subsidiaries, and it took an average of 3 months for the salesperson to respond to EACH of our emails

Today in European news:

A BRAWL broke out between Turkey and Georgia fans. They FIERCELY shouted at each other through some railings while throwing plastic beverage cups at each other.

Then, during the game, a player was GRAVELY injured when a defender tackled him directly in the shin guard. He rolled around on the ground for 5 minutes before medics saved his life with the magic spray.

Yall are cute :)

If I'm in an interview and I hear the company call business hours "core hours", I'm immediately running. That is corporate jargon straight from capitalist hell. They don't even hide that they're trying to own our lives now, so they say "non-core hours" to try to normalize working at 8pm.

Proms were around for ~50 years before we started seeing "promposals", where guys would ask girls out with 3 minute-long choreographed dances in the middle of the quad for the whole school to see & record for social media. I'm not saying it's stupid to put effort into asking someone, it can definitely be cute, but it can also be ultra cringe if you take it too far

Guess I was just too excited to be more descriptive lol

My post was slang for “we’re getting a lot of great announcements during this direct” but doesn’t look like people understood 🤷‍♂️

Sadly, I don’t think ray tracing is going to fix how boring this game is. I also backed the kickstarter because I’m a huge Banjo Kazooie fan. I started this game 3 separate times and could never will myself to get more than halfway. Not only is the gameplay uninteresting, the writing just doesn’t have the same charm as the BK games

I see there are several different ways to install OSRS on Linux - flatpaks, Android emulators, Steam, etc. - but can anyone recommend the best as far as ease of setup? With lack of glitches being the second priority?

I have an AMD GPU that is quite recent (<5 years)

Dude I experience this PLUS my mind just has to have a song playing internally constantly, so even if I don’t actually play the song, my mind will beat it to death if it’s catchy enough

It's my turn to set the Community Challenge for this week...

Theme

This week we're doing theme via creative constraint. Make whatever you want, you just can't use characters. More specifically, no characters, named or unnamed, from any stories, songs, games, etc. That includes mash ups.

You can definitely still have people, you can still use tropes, and even create your own totally original characters. Just no reusing existing characters, or obvious derivatives

Rules

  1. Follow the community’s rules above all else

  2. One comment and image per user

  3. Embed image directly in the post (no external link)

  4. Workflow/Prompt sharing encouraged (we're all here for fun)

  5. At the end of the week each post will be scored according to the following grid

    | Prize | Points | |

|

| | Most upvoted | +3 points | | Second most upvoted | +1 point | | Theme is clear | +1 point | | OP’s favorite (me, this week) | +1 point | | Most original | +1 point | | Last entry (to compensate for less time to vote) | +1 point | | Prompt and workflow included | +1 point | 6. Posts that are ex aequo (tied) will both get the points 7. Winner gets to pick next theme! Good luck everyone and have fun!

Past entries

  1. Dieselpunk
  2. Goosebump Book
  3. Deep Space Wonders
  4. Fairy Tales

  10. Sustainable Ecumenopolis
  11. Masks
