I was under the impression premium views result in more revenue for the creators you watch compared to views with ads.

It very much has the "we must give meaning to life for the idiots who can't run their own life... and by that we mean we think you aren't human so just do what we need to be comfortable and dominant ourselves" vibe

Yep. I was in the primary market for it back then, and even I was like, meh.

Remember Battleborn? FPS MOBA from Gearbox that came out in like... 2018 or thereabouts. Never got off the ground and got completely shuttered in like, a year, iirc

"photos to signing 80s songs"?

I dunno. I pay for premium. The price feels justified given how much I use YouTube pretty much every day.

But if others feel differently, that's fine.

The far right shit is bad, there's a lot bad in general, but I still get a lot of value from lefty politics to atheism content to video game essays to music videos.

Same. I gravitate towards female avatars for the most part, usually because I just like looking at them more.

Sometimes it's more game specific. Mass Effect, for example, the stock fem Shep is just the canonical version of the character in my head. Had a cooler and more relatable face design. And perhaps most importantly, default masc Shep just really looks like every dudebro I've ever disliked in person.

Yeah, everyone's got their preferences, fo sho.

I ended up marrying my work colleague. By the time we started dating I was already slated to leave the state for another gig in a couple months. Figured if it didn't work out, I'd be completely out of the picture soon anyway. If it did work out... well a year of long distance turned into a marriage, so it really worked out.

That said I have a more corporate long term job now, so I'd certainly have to be a lot more socially careful if I were single trying to meet someone at work.
