Wow that is an absolute dealbreaker for this instance. Blanket censorship is just a big no no. So long and thanks for all the fish, off to find a new instance to call home!

I'll be scrolling through lemmy world and occasionally I'll see comments where a word in them has been replaced with removed. Usually from context it's early a swear word, normal stuff not slurs.

Is this a lemmy.world censorship thing? A lemmy wide thing? I doubt it has anything to do with my app, unless Jerboa is censoring specific words.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Frankly I don't think they've put a foot wrong all weekend and we should really appreciate that after the poor stewarding we've seen earlier this season. All we asked for was consistent, fair ruling, and that's exactly what, finally, we got.

Of course they relentlessly and meticulously enforced track limits and, in my opinion, were really timely on handing out violations and penalties. Clearly they had a really streamlined system in place. As Ted pointed out, it meant that inconsistent driving was finally penalized and consistency rewarded, which is so refreshing.

On top of that they called the safety car and virtual safety cars exactly as they were needed, coordinated to put the safety car through the pitlane when necessary, and overall managed track incidents very well. Their calls on other incidents like unsafe releases and de Vries's clumsy defending were also by the book and quickly judged.

It finally feels like race control is doing the job they were meant to do: enforce the rules consistently and not get in the way of the racing. That competence enabled the great racing we saw today and I hope race control teams at other tracks take note of the successes this weekend.

Care to elaborate? As a book reader I thought it was a really faithful adaptation, about as good as it gets. I do miss some of the cut bits, especially the character development of Yeoh and some of the context around CHOAM, but the meat and philosophy of the story is there. Hopefully part 2, which really gets into the good part of the story, keeps up that trend.

It's sugar. Loads and loads of sugar.

That's actually ok! The real issue is low occupancy cars: when you start carpooling the benefits really add up. A petrol car with 3 ppl is (from an emissions perspective) equivalent to a diesel bus with ~30 ppl.

That's a really smart idea: downloaded and using it to type this comment. I've often thought about how radial entry is so superior for many things (see CSGO buy menu). It's definitely a steep learning curve (as is any new input method) but I look forward to reaping the benefits!
