This time it wasn't even that bad, just me and my friend out on a night walk in an urban park

We walked past a parking lot on the edge of the park that had a few cars parked but they seemed empty and we started walking along the road

Then 2 cars came to life, turned their lights off, and pulled out of the parking lot at insane speeds and drove right past us but as they came toward us it was like "oh fuck, did we just interrupt something bad? Are they gonna start shooting?"

Idk maybe we were just being paranoid but it really surprised and scared us, especially cuz their shitty cars had no mufflers so it was deafening as they went by

That being said, we still get harassed by cops a lot more when we're out than by anyone else lol

For context, I'm a massive nerd about like electronics and technology, and some other things (less enthusiastic than I used to be because of burnout and capitalism and surveillance and such, but still), and I'm reasonably well off, as long as I can hold onto this job anyhow, but not 6 figures or anything (USD).

It is so up my alley, it looks so fun, but I just don't feel like I can justify devoting that much of my life to hobbies and events like that just to make me happy (and showing up empty handed and burned out to events like that with no projects to show off or even talk about isn't that fun either). I'm probably too busy with work, and even if I wasn't, how can I justify it when my comrades are starving, freezing, homeless, etc. and fascism is looming, I need to be organizing and learning and preparing, not making fun toy projects and getting drunk in the woods with a bunch of cool, queer, but ultimately pretty white upper class leaning people....

I know communism isn't when No Fun, but I just don't feel like I can square the circle of living life to the fullest, doing the things I know I must, politically and morally, and working for capitalists to survive. Instead I sorta half ass all three and am happy with none. Sometimes I feel like I'm just treading water and getting more and more cynical...

My absolute favourite internet interactions (other than big stinky discussion posts <3) are when I can actually get to know people, sorta. Because Autism this sometimes takes the form of an internal "dossier" of facts n traits about people that I add more to as I observe or talk to them. It sounds weird but I promise you it's fine, you have to trust me. More than a couple of times I've had really fulfilling connections with people, which is not something I can really say about people irl. egh irl people

Thing is though I can only really even do this online. Social interactions do not start for me irl. Anxiety is so fuckin thick that the couple of times people who seemed cool or interesting have approached me, I have literally run away. I can't do it, is all. Fhis is also why I never followed up on poking that queer place in my town or finding orgs or whatever, I would die if I went inside a place.

I could take either an SSRI/SNRI or maybe loprazolam about it? But fuck that, seriously. The former flattens me, and the latter... Companies doing stock buybacks to boost their share price (and executive pay), instead of re-investing the money into their business. As Ben Norton said, this is why Boeing is in such a fucked up place now. Price to earnings ratios that prices stocks at well beyond their worth. People invest more money to prop up the overvalued stock market, causing an even more unreasonable price. People look at , assume that it will always go that way, and keep dropping money into it.

Not to mention that so much of a company's "value" is symbolic shit like their trademark. For instance, Apple's logo is worth over $100 billion, Tesla's is somehow over $70 billion, even though the cars are fucking shit. So much of clothing is just a company slapping a label on the product and the storefront and calling it a day, while subcontracting everything in the design and production.

I'm tempted to put this in badposting, because this is not incredibly new or insightful.

This happens to me when I rarely open up Facebook. I'd see someone I was obsessing over in the 10s, and now I just wonder what I was ever feeling with them. It's not like something happened and they're massively different, they're more or less the same. Really the world changed a lot and I'm not the I used to be.

I'm not dating anyone new now. But if I had to judge someone as hot, they would have many of the following characteristics:

• left of some soft (Marxist, Anarchist, hell I'll date a decent socdem)
• mask wearing
• vegan
• high empathy, worry about the suffering of others
• reader
• actively organising something in their community

To be honest, I had a pretty basic taste in dates back in the day. If anything, this should be a self-crit.

Life is so bad right now. Everything is fucking awful. But things could have been a lot more awful. I posted on here last night begging for someone to talk me into taking my psych meds and someone did it. They even worked with the stupid parameters mentally ill me set up for myself. I never expected anybody to send me money for cigarettes. But that pack of smokes got me back on my anti-psychotics

No, seriously. Just like any system ours has loopholes and contradictions, we all know this. I think the left in America isn't focused enough on legislation that would almost certainly be challenged by SCOTUS which, in their decision, would open up an even bigger can of worms to overturn than to just keep in place.

I think the goal of this should not be to try and force a decision to uphold but rather to force them to swallow the poison pill and further harm the fascist project in the USA. Literally goad them into an overturning of whatever law you passed that requires such an opinion as to have broad sweeping repercussions. I don't have any ideas because I haven't thought much on it. However, I think there is some opportunity in this idea and enough people ruminating around it has potential.

It seems to me the rightwing kind of already engages in this. So why not the left? Isn't eroding the legal constructs of the capitalist state in our best interests?
