A few takeaways from this:

  • The fact that they’re spinning him as the most progressive of the shortlist/to the left of Kamala indicates the Dems are seeing shoring up the base/disaffected progressives as a higher priority than chasing “moderate” conservatives.
  • Particularly, him being one of the more vocal critics among electeds against the police after the murder of George Floyd is definitely an attempt to soften the Kopmala image.
  • However, he believes in pay-as-you-go and caved to Uber and Lyft in vetoing a bill that would’ve increased rideshare driver’s wages so no mistaking this guy for even center-left.

And this is still the best they can offer; and I bet I'll still meet a dozen peckerwoods that think they can cudgel a blue vote out of me like-- even if the slavemaster DNC keeps Claudia off the ballots in my state, that probably just means I'm staying home
