Guys I went to a revolutionary war museum in America and it was nothing but blatant anti-English propaganda! Heavily lacking in nuance, no talk of the bad things Americans did to the crown.
Americans CLAIM to respect property but then they went and STOLE the WHOLE COUNTRY from the king! And act like they're the victims!!
Great part about this comparison is the self-mythologizing about the Revolutionary War about how our brilliant minutemen were hiding in trees and ambushing British soldiers.

A side note but it was immensely funny to me to discover the British call it a civil war instead, lol
The Revolutionary War was really similar in many aspects to 1861-1865, except rebels won, and this is the only reason it isn't usually called a civil war.
Also, first casualty of it was a black man. Both literally and metaphorically.
