The Lemmy place to discuss veganism.

Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.

Interesting to know.

Milk in chips has definitely thrown me for a loop because I can't think of any reason why that would be there.

the one that gets me is when there are milk products in spicy chips like...? doesn't milk denaturize capsaicin? you're making the chips less spicy by doing that, you absolute clowns

How many times have you seen sour cream or cheese flavored chips? Dairy is all over the snack industry sadly.

I wasn't having an issue with dairy, just milk specifically. If my chips have cheese, i expect to see them labelled cheese, not milk.

Many of the flavors use powdered milk to achieve the desired tastes is all I was saying.
