Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

"It is a complicated issue. It is truly a complicated issue, with a wide range of views, truly a wide range of views," Jean-Pierre said. "There is no 'yes or no' answer to this, it is complicated. There is a rule that the Department of Education [DOE] has put forward, and we're going to let that process move forward, and again, we want to make sure that while we establish guardrails with this rule, we also prevent discrimination, as well, against transgender kids. But again, a complicated issue with a wide range of views, and we respect that."

"Absolutely no reason for the Biden admin to do this," New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wrote. "It is indefensible and embarrassing. The admin can still walk this back, and they should. It's a disgrace."

"Honestly, this move by Biden to push a rule on trans kids in sports is not only a backwards betrayal, it [forces] us to have to spend our time dealing with god d*** sports instead of criminal bans on our healthcare," Alejandra Caraballo, a civil rights attorney and LGBTQ+ advocate, wrote. "He could have just done nothing. This is legitimizing transphobia."

The mOsT PrOgReSsIvE Administration in History™ funny-clown-hammer "A complicated issue with a wide range of views, and we respect that" funny-clown-hammer Fuck off out of here with that "centrist" nonsense. There's nothing complicated about it, and it's not an issue unless you want to turn it into one and want to appeal to people's emotions like Republicans are doing. It was only a matter of time before they'd start throwing trans people under the bus. I guess with the coming elections it's as good a time as ever.

Lol I also know where this argument is going

So when do we start testing the levels of all athletes? When do we start banning physically taller people as well? That’s the only way to ensure the fairness you’re concern trolling about, right?

They have been banning cis women from female athletics as well because they were deemed not womanly enough. So it isn't exactly new.

It's important to note that this only applies to women (especially black women). When Michael Phelps has lactate levels twice as high as his competitors and literal webbing between his fingers or when Usain Bolt's limbs exactly match the length for ideal leverage when running, nobody gives a fuck, then they're just celebrated as superheros and competitors without their physiological advantage have to suck it up that the olympic level of their sport is completely dominated by one person. But when a trans woman scores 14th place in a disc golf tournament, or when Lia Thomas wins one competition and improves her ranking from 60th place in the men's national ranking to 48th place in the women's national ranking, we have to pretend that bigots demanding genital inspections for highschool girls is "a complicated issue" and not a reason to feed the bigots into a woodchipper.

literal webbing between his fingers

you what

I believe it isn't too uncommon (pls correct if wrong) for some babies to have connective tissue form 'webbing' between their digits, so doctors normally just cut it away and all is well.

They did that previously maybe in the 80s? Idk but they stopped because a lot of "cis" people found out they weren't...
