One of the best optimized games I ever played was Mad Max
I couldn't tell if you meant that as a joke or a meme so I did a google, apparently Mad Max is regarded as the best optimized game of 2015!
And I agree, it played great in 2018 when I bought it on steam for $2.99 (on sale now again for $4.99), ran great!
Yeah I remember not really having to tinker with settings with my low-mid setup @1080p
