people making claims like this would recoil in horror at the prospect of such a thing happening to them and theirs. I just wish you could put them in a ring with someone who casually practiced a combat sport for two years to thrash them about for 5 minutes. If you have that at a baseline, you could introduce them to the scale of violence and how it only gets worse.
Professional combat athlete toying with you -> rando who doesnt want to hurt you but would for your wallet -> rando who wants to hurt you -> trained athlete who wants to hurt you -> guy with a knife who wants to hurt you -> two guys with a knife who want to hurt you => guy with a gun -> two guys with guns -> two soldiers with big guns who decide you're in the way -> two war criminals who want to Abu Ghraib you -> the full might of a US colonial project torturing you in an open air prison -> US colonial project flying weapons of war to end your bloodline in hellfire
If you would shid and cry seeing your mom getting punched by a trained combat athlete hitting her with a few jabs, take a moment to consider how that fairs against the escalation of horrible violence before prescribing something worse for someone else. Not like it matters though; they will keep saying bullshit because they have a horrible hang up in not caring about the apartheid, so therefore Palestine shoots red laser beams.
