I had some zero THC cbd and cbg mix like 5 years ago. No side effects and it really helped me stay away from booze and other dumb shit. I was productive without the side effects of smoking regular bud (laziness and munchies really fuck with me and THC gives me more anxiety)

Should I be going for CBD or CBG or try and do both again? Anyone have experience with this sort of thing?

If you can, I'd recommend that too. Took a while but my psychiatrist really helped.

I had a therapist and a psyche doc, it wasn't so useful to me

i will say that i've never had a good experience with brain doctors but the people i know who have had success all say you need to go through some (many) shit ones to find a good one. if you can afford to do so, it may not be a bad idea to start up a search.

if you even find a good one. rolling the dice takes a toll even if their incompetence doesn't make your life worse and eventually it's too hard to try
