I got this game on sale a couple years back and only just started playing it, but I've been having fun. Im not very familiar yet, but the basics seem simple enough. I don't really understand how the portal cords work or having a base planet, but I'll try and figure it out if y'all will have me.
of course! join the linked matrix. we're happy to have leftists all over the fediverse, and if you don't understand the portal coords i can bring you over using the multiplayer features. me and another comrade had to figure it out the hard way, but i've got it down now.
Bit of a late response, but one thing to keep in mind is that this game has customizable difficulty. That is, you can tune individual gameplay elements like economy pricing, crafting requirements, etc. to your needs. So if you bump into anything particularly grindy, just switch it off. This is useful when it comes to tracking down a portal and powering it up with the needed materials to travel, as that can be an incredibly grindy process.
