Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

never interrupt your opponent when they're making a mistake

bro people have been saying this shit about trump for 10 years, when do the consequences of these mistakes you're not interrupting them for come about? When they peacefully at the age of 102 surrounded by loved ones?

It's after they ignore you, but before they laugh at you.

Yea "don't interrupt your enemy....." only works if there are natural consequences for the mistakes your enemy is making.

Trump being a racist dumbass conman isn't a mistake, it's his entire raison d'etre

Even Biden doesn’t want you to vote for him lol. He’s outsourcing his campaign to his voters because his website doesn’t include a platform. It literally just tells you to donate to him, and he has a montage video basically saying “we are divided. We need to heal”

Rashida Talib also introduced a bill to "procecute Assad" and she totally believes the whole "Assad used chemical weapons on his own people" BS.

yeah she tweeted pushing the Xinjiang atrocity smears as well

This is an example of performative nonsense. She's saying vote against Biden in the primary to send a message or whatever. She'll fully endorse the literal genocide of her people in the general election.

The vid description...

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., is urging Democrats in Dearborn, Michigan, to vote against President Joe Biden in the state's upcoming Democratic primary. NBC News' Jonathan Allen reports on Rep. Tlaib comments and how it might be a play to try to get votes against President Biden in the primary.

I put the vid on the background. I was doing other stuff - but I listened to the first 2 minutes and I think the word "Israel" appeared a grand total of once. Tlaib didn't mention Israel in her clip. I don't know if that was due to MSNBC editing or that was the clip she uploaded and she decided to avoid the sacred word. My hunch is that was her entire upload.

A talking head said stuff like "this is a reaction against Biden's policy" without saying anything more.

Yeah tried to watch but it's clear what's going on.

The whole thing is so weird. I can't even think of a noun or a well-known term to describe what she's doing. It's a liberal performative gesture. She provides zero context and she doesn't explain a thing. She merely says "vote undecided". MSNBC adds the clip to their Youtube upload and the video description is similarly vague. The anchor mentions Israel but he too provides no context. Then the interviewee talking head appears. He's my favorite. He starts talking and even though he's an actual fucking reporter - he knows that he too is not supposed to provide any context. So he doesn't.

It's an ethical and moral failure by Biden but the video makes it more like politics as normal with a disagreement on some policy issue. It's a fucking SNL sketch titled "Talking about Israel but not talking about Israel". Americans coming across this video who haven't been paying attention to this stuff (which is most Americans) would be saying... What? How? Huh? Why?

She merely says "vote undecided".

If Michigan is anything like Texas, pollsters won’t normally count write in candidates or blanks, so marking the official undecided box is the only way to show group objection to a race. Still performative, but there’s a logic to the spinelessness.

Unless you're in a tunnel under Rafah, you should be quiet.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Oh damn guess I can't have an opinion on a Minnesotan rep unless I'm in Rafah also I need to be in a tunnel

[–] [email protected] 14 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Ohmar is from Minnesota. Talib is from Michigan.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 6 months ago

Derp. Obviously given the context.

lets-fucking-go

edit:

joe biden says he's going to execute rashida :(

[–] [email protected] 25 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Coward should've said the General

Who the fuck is voting in the primary anyway?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Word is to write in "Free Palestine" on the Dem primary.

Michigan is a semi open primary with early voting. As long as you are registered to vote you can chose either Dem or Rep ballot for the primary but not both. You are not locked into that party for the general and are able to freely vote for who you want reguardless of the party in the general.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 6 months ago

This is incorrect. Write-ins do not get recorded or tallied. Organizers are asking people to fill in the formal 'uncommitted' option.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 6 months ago

This made me a little curious about my states primary, Florida Dems just cancelled it entirely. Democracy!
